What's especially funny is the J10 is a much older design than the F35.. even though the F35 is just entering service it somehow is the worst of the BF2 planes..

I gave up flying a long time ago.

I play maps without jets, if I can. They're lame.

Well it IS possible to hit a J10 doing a full afterburner turn. Just very hard. You have to get the right angle and slow down before you fire so you can get the nose WAY ahead of the J10. Then fire ALL six, and two should hit. Usually the first and third/last. You need to dumbfire the missles into him. That way, they aim to miss but hit the J10 right on the body. Also the other missles, at least when I see them, kinda 'bump' the j10 into the other missles. Quite effective I think.

              Re: Plane Bullcrap..

The biggest problem I have with the F-35 is that I'm so used to flying the Mig-29. Every plane in the game flies differently. It is a pilot's duty to learn and understand what his aircraft can and cannot do. If one flies an F-35 in the same "style" as the J-10, he will die quickly. Travelling in a straight line just above 300 meters is suicide. While it may be high enough to keep you out of locking range from ground AA, your heat signature is a glaring target for enemy aircraft. It may work in other jets that have missile repelling "capabilities" such as the J-10 and F-18, but you'll find yourself spawning back on the carrier in no time if you attempt this in an F-35.

I've also noticed that while flying the F-35 my total round scores are usually significantly lower than with other aircraft. This is because, in order to survive the duration of the round, I have to stay at higher altitudes and keep my afterburners at full capacity in the case that a bogey sees me. I generally stay above the 500 meter mark at all times until ground troops spot enemy armor or a commander or other teammate tells me to bomb a specific location. If I see an enemy jet, I keep up my bomb HUD to reduce the risk of them checking their six and somehow magically ending up on my tail. Because of this, I get fewer chances to bomb ground targets and end up with a lower overall score.

If you are piloting the Mig-29, J-10, or F-18, you have a much greater chance of pulling off insane round scores. This is due to the fact that they are more able to shake enemy bogeys at lower altitudes and the fact that they are much more maneuverable than the F-35. Many times when I am following an enemy F-35, I see pilots flying in straight lines at low altitudes and wasting their afterburners to get back to the carrier to reload quicker. No matter how hard they try to evade, they cannot because they are either too low to the ground and have lower airspeed or they have run out of afterburners to try and lose me. They wind up dead 99% of the time.

I will reiterate my statement above to ensure that everyone sees and understands this one fundamental truth:

The best way to learn this is to visit an unranked or nearly empty server. Find a sparring partner and get to know the aircraft. The F-35 is lethal in the right hands. Once you find your groove, you will survive far longer and get higher round scores than you probably thought possible in the F-35.

I think, if the J-10 ever gets it's lock broken.. the missle should stop tracking.. I have had COUNTLESS times, where I am flying straight upwards at 3,500+ and it is too late because the J-10 already got the missles off.. They keep tracking even though there isn't any lock. They should make it so that if the lock is broken, the missles don't track.

I totally agree. However, that would be logical and therefore will never be implemented. Too many sub-par wannabe pilots would complain that missiles are too difficult to get kills with. I hate the fact that they are currently "fire and forget". You can fire off two at an F-35 who just dropped his flares and resume bombing. Seconds later, you'll likely see a message saying that you killed that jet pilot. Ungh.

Remember 1.12? Those were the days. You actually had to know what you were doing to down an enemy jet. Get behind them with bomb HUD, start gunning them, and quickly switch to missile HUD. Fire off a few and they were likely toast. No flares could save them in such a situtation. *sigh*

Yeah, and I still use that method to this day..

Why the hell... did we even go to 1.2...

I say everyone just reverts to 1.12 and **** what EA says.

I'm all for it. However, there probably would be very few servers running it and lots of people would refuse to play it because they wouldn't get shiny new badges, ribbons, stars, whatever.

If we must stick with 1.3, at least make it so that air-to-air reverts to 1.12. I don't mind high accuracy with ground-to-air defense. But air-to-air combat has all but vanished. Generally it's whoever sees the other first wins (assuming the target is not in a J-10).

Sounds to me like you need more practice. Remember, there are people that have like 300+ hours in a jet alone. I hope you dont want someone to nerf the jets because there are dedicated jet players...That would be really stupid.

I have a great idea. Play Armored Fury, no A2A missiles, just good ol gun fights. :)

Hey now dont tell everyone my J10 missile fireworks, lol. That is the only way i been able to get a j10 since 1.3 with missiles, right angle and all six missiles, work 50/50 i say. When i have flow the J10 i also notice that once i have lock on the other jet, even thought he uses the flares my lock sometimes remains on the jet exhaust. So once again DICE and EA doing the best they can, wich is not much.

I see j10 miss F35s a few times, even with its locked on, but 80% its dead on. I rather fly a F35, the cannon is alot better.
