Patching?

i have recently just installed BF2 again and noticed my rank or global score isnt changing. I came tothe conclusion that it might be because i havnt dl'ed any patches. I have jst the basic starter one. I dl'ed the V1.3 full 438mg (or watever) patch but it doesnt work. Do i need to have dl'ed and installed previous patches in order for that to work?

And it wud be much appreciated if someone could give me a link where to dl them.

You just need the 1.3 Full patch.

Make sure you have roughly 3 GB of free harddrive space, on the drive that has your Windows installation, eventhough you installed the game to a different location.

I already have downloaded the 1.3 patch. When i try to open it, something happens in the background and in the task manages, it says its working, but nothing appears on screen.

I got the patch from the EA site. its called BF2_Full_13

Did you try restarting the PC? Might just be another instance of the installer that is hanging in the background.

Everything is fine now.

Just for some reason, it took the install shield 6 minutes to appear and do anything :s

LOL. You are running a 400mb+ file and you probably have active antivirus running also, which also takes time. For large files, you need to be patient.

You ever notice how most games have a small executable file and then it reads other large data files....well, this is one big file that has to extract itself before it starts loading.

Hopefully others will read this and just let the patch run.
