I just got my birthday present- Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. I wanted to experiment, mainly after Metallicas and PlaneWhores recommendations. I came from Attack 3, which was a friggin amazing joystick, up until the potentiometers finally broke down. That joystick was durable, cheap, and simple. It was also very cheap, which made it a great choice because it was the first JS for me and I started as a joystick-raping newbie, so it got a lot of abuse.
3D is akward, its spring is way too stiff, and I cant get used to the twist handle.
If you want to change the spring, buy one of those cheap 6 dollar airsoft pistols, break them apart, take the spring out and use it. Its a bit stiff, but a LOT softer than the default spring, and I mean a "LOT". I did it to my Attack 3 and it was perfect.
