    1) Are you using an Windows Administrator account? If not, then you need to.

    2) If you are using and Administrator account and you still are having problems, then possible reasons can be adware/spyware or other malware, that are messing about with your permissions and user rights in Windows. Look here http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=faq-bf2.php

    3) If the above still doesn't help, then try submitting a webticket to Evenbalance, at this link: http://www.punkbuster.com/troubletic...t.php?game=bf2 and provide either the screenshot, or the exact message it displays.

    EDIT:

You can also try updating PB, via this tool: http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

Yeah, the last suggestion stated above is your fix. Update PB.

I dont know where the son of a gay guy is, but since he's not here atm, i'll try to help.:) When you say you updated PB, did you use the auto update? That sometimes doesnt work correctly. Heres a link to try it manually.

As stated a few posts above, are you logged in with an administrator account.?

I had this same problem. Like Gunny said earlier. It turns out I had spyware or a virus, which had changed my admin status on my account. I read somewhere else about this and checked my account. Sure enough it had changed my status from admin. So I changed it back to admin and it worked after that. Don't know if you have actually checked, but may be worth a try.

Right click on the desktop shortcut and go to comptability, on the bottom it says "run as admin" and then it should work fine.

I'm not having problems, but i checked out your solution anyways, and my shortcut doesnt have that option. What version windows are you running?

I too had this problem in Vista and i checked the option to run with admin priveleges and it worked, but now the actual gameplay is very choppy and unresponsive. I don't know if its my mouse and keyboard drivers or if i should reinstall bf2 ( i did an upgrade so its used to XP) but i'll post here if i fix the unresponsiveness.
