    My graphics a bit jumpy please help. Oh sound too!

    Alright I'll post my specs first and then give my issue.

    AMD Athlon x2 3800+
    Corsair 0512MB DDR x2
    WD 160 GB, Caviiar SE
    ASUS EN7600GT 256MB
    ASUS A8N-E , nForce4 Ultra PCIe

    Okay so I run everything on medium and on the rezolution 1 up from 600x800 as I couldn't switch it back to the lower as it caused BF to crash to desktop. I can play alright but it's a bit jumpy but it wasn't so bad a few days ago. How can I optimize everything to make it run better? I've closed all aps and firewall. I'm running teamspeak and xFire at the same time if that helps. Should I not be able to play on medium without the slight laggy effect?

    Also I seem to have some mild farty sounds in my headphones where as normally sound is quite clear in everything else. What is causing this?

      BF2 problems in BF2 support..... I really should be trashing your thread...


      You should at least be able to play in 1280x1024 in all medium smoothly in that set up. My comp is only slightly more powerful and pulled that off, and the only difference is my cpu is more powerful, but bf2 is not a cpu draining application... You might want more ram eventually if you want to run things in high.

          Oh god this time I full on meant to put it in the correct spot. I can't believe I did it again...

              team speak and xfire takes up some ram / bandwith so i usually turn it off

              umm..i cant really think of anything at the moment since u have a pretty decent setup..new drivers maybe?

                      eh, samething i just got my evga 7600 GT CO and its graphics are horrible!
                      you prolly should get more ram for more perfromance, i have 512 mb too, but im about to get 2 gigs
