Yes, enter it into the prefix box on the accounts screen.

Yes you can it's the Prefix which you get on logging in... Just fire up Battlefield 2 and at the login screen enter your clan-tag in the Prefix box..

Yeah. When you log in there is a box above the "account box." I don't remember what it's labeled (nickname, or prefix or something like that). I'd post a screen but it's pretty self explanitory, and I don't have access to BF2.

It'll be [prefix name] [username]. So if you don't want a space between the two names, then you need a new account. I think it's limited to 5 characters as well.

He probably didn't click on the name because he didn't know that the prefix was what he was looking for.

oh yeah, don't forget that you can enter it into the "Prefix" box on the account screen..
