I am trying to play BF2 but everytime I try to start I get:

"BF2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."


Computer:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
nVidia GeForce 5700
1GB Corsair RAM
ABIT AV8 motherboard

I don't understand why I am getting this. :cry:

Would start by checking video and sound drivers, Do you have the latest DirectX version? Has bf2 ever worked on that machine? make sure you have the latest 1.3 patch.

I have the latest patch, I just got it. And no, i've never played BF2 on this system, I just got it. I noticed this thing you said to do in another topic.

Edit: Also, will BF2 run on a GeForce FX 5700?

I see now:
The file nv4_disp.dll is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer.

Question is, how do I fix this?

Okay, now on the Diagnostic I have no problems for all tabs, yet I still get the error.

This is on the next page and I really need help, so does anyone have anymore answers?
