Great mod is leaving BF2

A great bf1942 mod is leaving BF2.
Sad news, this mods was different then most other mods.

The reasons for this change are threefolded:
- We don't believe in the engine. No, it doesn't mean we suddenly think it's no good, it means that we don't have faith in that the engine (game) will be living on for much longer. We have already developed one mod for an engine in decline. If we want all this large amount of work we rather see it have the ability to live on when we are done and not suffer from the fact that most players have already uninstalled the game when we release our mod.
- Tired of DICE/EAs inability to deliver. And we are not referring to bug fixes of the main game, the redesigning of game-elements after one year, the introduction of more bugs in their patches and such, but the handling of the editor, support to the mod community, the loss of the mod coordinator without replacement and last but not least, the handling of the alternative ranking system. It just adds up.
- Because we want to. And in the end, that is all that matters.

Another sign BF2 is dying/in decline. It's hard to argue with these points. If the regular gamer said it, it would be considered be whining/non-fanboy comments. I'd glad someone else said it...

the mod is dying coz no one play's it.
I play it alot before and there was only 8-10ppl.
{I love how the sniper can put spawn points :p }

I played there bf1942 mod...It was awsome to say the least .
tank models were amazing.
sorry to see them go. EA sucks.

I never even heard about their mod, either way it’s not a sign of anything other than BF2 is a lot of work to mod, wow big surprise there. The writing was on the wall from day one when BF2 was released and people discovered nobody would play on private / unranked servers, everyone wanted ranks, weapon unlocks and medals, I guess you would assume BF2 was dieing back then too.

Im sure people would play it after they switched it over to BF2, I dont think it got something to do with the amount of players on bf1942.

I loved the special things like when you die you get a nice grave.

Mods are so sweet dude! You can make a tank look like a different tank! and you can make a gun into a paintball gun, or you can make all the uniforms totally rad and stuff.
