why does installing 1.3 take like 30 min?

so why does it take that long? i mean the thing is like 400MB but it takes longer than installing BF2 inself? why is that?

The incremental patch took me all of 10 minutes to install. Maybe 15 if you count the time it took to download.

You have a slow computer. Took me only a matter of minutes to install.

Took me about 30 minutes to download (ea's site was swamped) and all of 10-15 to install.

well, after all the elves run into your computer out of the archive file, if there's one lil elf that gets stuck looking at your pron it might take longer.... j/k

you might try defragging before installing. that should speed it up some.

Wow! Some of these posts are kind of crazy with the install times...mine took like 7 minutes.

Some peeps may have invasive programs installed that will delay the progress

like antivirus programs
