please help! Yet another game freeze problem
Can any one help me?
A few weeks ago my PC froze at the point after joining a server & loading a map. I get into an online game where the front screen is, i.e. choose army/kit etc & :no mouse aarrgghhh, infact no controls at all!
the battle was still raging in the background but all of my controls were frozen!?
I came straight to this site looking for answers but to no avail. It seems no one else has had this happen. (i cant believe that) I have been trying for two weeks to get BF2 running but still no joy. (apart from playing in an unranked v1.0 server once)
Please help me get back into to my beloved BF2 war games.
Bf fixes I have tried so far:
3 re-installs after completely removing every trace/folder/file related to BF2 on my system.
Complete patch 1.3 not incremental.
Driver updates & re-installs for Graphics, Chipset, Lan, & Soundcard.
Reg fix , spyware doc, & adware se scan & fix
Hard Disk defrag
Disk cleanup
One thing I have noticed is that it may be something to do with the sound, as it locked up when I selected audio options on the front screen & sometimes makes strange distorted sounds when I get into an online game. I have a crappy CMI 8738 sound card, from C-media which I am planning to replace.
I am going to try removing the sound card unistalling drivers and running the game with no sound to see if it will solve the problem.
I am really @ my wits end & cannot think of any thing else.
Please please help.
