more and more i get this message after i try and get into a server, it happened pre 1.3 but it seems like it happens more now, what (if anything) can i do to fix this? thanks

ugh the dreaded 9-letter word, so whats the procedure to reinstall (better safe than sorry) uninstall bf2 and SF, delete patches, i only have the incrimentals(sp)
then reload bf2 and SF and install the big 1.3 patch? thanks again

Uninstall SF before uninstalling BF2, and then what you said.

I get it now to. I find re-applying the patch fixes it. Just for it to happen again.
I may try a reinstall myself.

will i lose all of my settings for controls and such, and if so is there a file i can save with the settings in it? thanks

I get the modified content error upon connecting to a server too fast. I think what happens is I load the map before the server is done loading and it thinks Im' connecting to the previous map. If I rejoin the server I can get in fine.

This is quite annoying and I wish it would be fixed, but Im not sure what could be done about it.
