Help Bf2 Crashing

Hello

I am Ian new to BF2 just bough it today from EBgames. I instaled the game and then rebooted my pc like it said to do. I boot back up and click on the icon to run the game i get the bf2 slpash screan and then the splash screan goes away and then back to my desktop the game just didnt load. been doing this ever time i try to load the game.

i wiped my hd and instaled xp clean to see if that was the problem and it still did the same thing.

i am usesing all the lastes drivers for ever hard ware in my pc.

i have a intel PD 2.8 dual core
1gig ram
evga 6800 GT 256 agp
2 dvd drives
2 hard drives
tv card.
550 power sup
Samsung lcd montior
sound blaster aduigty 2

any ideas what to do? thanks so much for the help.

Have you installed any patches whatsoever or just the game as it came on the disk?

Make sure you have all the correct drives and the game patched to patch 1.3

First of all verify that you are using the latest Versions of DirectX. Also make sure you have the latest Video, sound, and network drivers. If all drivers are up to date, make sure you have the latest Patch, wich would be 1.3,Post a DxDiag report in here for a lil more help.....

How to get a Dxdiag report:
Click start, then click run and type Dxdiag Then click save all information and save that file to your desktop. Then Copy and paste the entire contents of that notepad file into this thread so we can have a further peak.

I'd actually ignore the suggestions to patch to 1.3. Make sure it will run in basic 1.0 form before proceeding to patch. 1.3 could open up a whole new can of worms, so itd be good to see if you can get it running without complicating things.

I agree with mlkmnz. Hasn't 1.3 introduced a whole crash to desktop problem? The game should run fine on 1.0.

I'd suggest a virus scan and turning off anything in the background that is not a critical service to rule out hardware complications as well.

thanks for all the ids. i do have all the lates drivers and drirectx 9c . and there is no spyware or vriuses on the pc i am trying the 1.3 patch now. hope it works.

ok i updated the gam to patch 1.3 and now the game loads the splash screan than a black screan than back to the desktop. this is starting to **** me off.

whats the point of paying for a game that dont work. i hate EA

here is the strangest thing. the game runs out of the box on my sis amd athlon 1.2 , 256 fx550 , 40 gig hd 512 ram . runs on it loads the game and plays ok. then on mine it jsut wont laod.

what is ea games dont run on intel dual core pcs or what. seems like i made a mistake buying a intel dual core.

any idea.

hello

i belive i found out what the problem is. truns out there is some kind of problem with my seagate hard drive. i put a old samsung hd in the pc and instaled BF2 on it and it worked. i was surpirsed.so i emailed seagate to send me a new hard drive under warrenty. thanks for all the help

i have just found i have the exact same problem as Ian, i double click the bf2.exe, the bf2 image comes up, the screen goes black to load, then the desktop returns and nothing happens.

I have had 1.3 installed for a while and had no problems. I have however just bought and connected and new LCD monitor - is this the problem or is it the 1.3 patch like people are suggesting??!

2. Move your Battlefield 2 folder in My documents and put it on your desktop. When loading BF2 Again it should force it to create a new one using default settings.

hello i am back. now i have a new problem. i load the game and get to 59% loaded and ever time i get this erro now. any ideas what it is and how to fix it?

Do a search on "memory sanity error", although I think this is from incorrect patching.
