BF2 Center: All of your BF2 Needs... On your Desktop!

I have been working on this project for a while (at least the concept). The actual program has only been under development the past 2 days. Anyway, here it is.

Battlefield 2 Center
Build: 0.1

The BF2 Center is your one stop shop for ALL of your BF2 and other Battlefield games. News, Trailers, Mods, Community Updates, User Media, Picures, Patches, Expansion Pack Info, Tech Support, Discussion, and much more. The best part is... IT'S ALL ON YOUR DESKTOP! No more googleing to find what you need.

At the current time I do not plan to make custom message boards as there is already a perfect one... this one!

At the current time there is no browser built in to the application, to view the news (etc.) a new window will be opened up in your default browser.

Also, at the current time the resources are all links to sites with that info. This may change in the future.

The community is what will make this program fly, community support will majorly shape this program.

it will cost all of you 50 bucks a pop... just kidding... its FREE!

The first build will be released very soon!

Mmm.. My desktop is filled with crap so I'd have to say no.. Sorry good Idea though but I don't I'd use it..

i cant seem to be able to make it as an actual app, so its gonna be a java script page.It'll prolly be released in the next 30 minutes.

So it's like that Active desktop that windows has?

yea, no offence, but something like that is not really useful. Just a distraction.

Spend the time making a great website, simple, with all the info needed and easy for most people to navigate and find what they want.

I can't seem to get it to work, When I run the file, it runs on a local host, and when I build it, it creates a .war file (website archive). I can't seem to find away to deploy it to a server for the public... but im working.

The good news is... you wont have to dl anything (i think). It's basicly an online portal type thingy.

You have localhost there. That means the file must be on your computer. You haven't thought this out much, eh ?

You will need to upload it somewhere, such as your own personal website. I'm sure I can host it for you on SFV-Clan.NET, if you give me the correct JSP files.

As for making it an actual APP, I code in VB [.net aswell] and may be able to create this - hook me up on xfire at: lemonybrainaid

hey thats cool that ur using this as a learning experience, and catering to the BF2 community by providing usefull content.....best of all, if it fails, you still walk away with knowledge, and valuable experience, either way, i wish u luck....

forgive me if i dont download it tho......im a bit paranoid when it comes to downloading, and executing files from strangers...
