Disabling Pixel Shader 2.0- will it gain FPS?

Im running the game with an ATI Radeon 9550 SE 128MB card.

Ive recently come across a program called 3D Analyzer, which forces the card to use pixel shader 1.1/1.4 in the game, at your request.

Now, Im an inexperienced guy with a need to gain FPS, and a will to experiment with new things ( ).

Will this gain me extra FPS if I disable Pixel Shader 2.0?

Any 3d party software that alters the way BF2 runs will be detected by PunkBuster and will not let you play online.

3D Analyzer doesnt edit BF2 in any way, it tricks your pc into thinking a different 3d card is attacthed, and shouldnt flag up on punkbuster.

But using it as part of regular gaming is a very bad idea, changing shader levels may offer you some fps,(IF it works, very big if btw.) but it will make the game very unstable, and may damage your card.

Hard truth........get a job/save up and buy a better card.

I'm not so sure on this side of things but if i'm not mistaken if a game was make for Pixel shaders 2 it wont run using pixel shaders 1.4

@extremepilot it doesnt later BF2 it alters the way your graphics card runs.

LOL, I have a job, but Im incredibly stingy and not to keen on updating my PC unless I really have to. I was just curious on the negative sides of using this software. You said it can damage the card, and it really scares me from using it.

Im just trying to figure out a way before I spend money on such a thing as PC :P

There also airsoft in my hobbies list, and that takes most of my free money.

My buddy uses a 9200. It doesnt have 2.0 pixel shader (I think). He ran it. Just needed to set AGP speed to 4X.
