Im Still126, I recently just got the rank of First Sergent and I really want to start piloting fighter jets. I could really use some help with the dogfighting. I have a few questions...1. When dogfighting, should i always be accelerating or should I slow down for turns and all. 2. how do you evade a oncoming missle/ or shake off a jet on yuour back. Any help will be greatful. P.S I have a Saitek Syborg Evo and I was wondering if I should use that or a keyboard/joystick configuration?

Great advice thereOriginally posted by AP_piano295dont even try fighting J10's
I'm only a GySgt and i've taken down a few J-10's, i don't fly that much as you can tell by my stats and i see myself as more of a ground pounder.
You just need to pull off crazy manouvers that the other pilot wont expect, then get behind him long enough to send a couple of hello missiles into his rear. It's all about practice and not flying predictablyComment

The way I escape normal J10 pilots is; I quickly spiral up to 770 and the go full afterburner across the map, it works 9 times out of 10 if you manage to get to 770 before they kill you
Of course you need a joystick and only slow down if you know that they will overtake you so that you are behind them, dont slow for bombing runs or attacking choppers.
The only effective way of killing J10s is by staying on the bomb view (which you should anyway) and sneaking up behind them and shoot for the engines or cockpit with your cannons. Forget your missiles unless you are close enough to use them dumbfire.
The easiest way to win is base rape the airfield to stop the J10 taking off, when its pilot gives up bail out and steal it

Why 770? What map are you talking about? Idk about the other maps, but on Wake, you can go all the way up to 900 and still have control. After 900, there are still ways to keep control (like going up then back down really fast, causing you to do 1 frontflip and then get back < 900) but 900 is basically the threshold of control.Originally posted by Heatseeker_no.1The way I escape normal J10 pilots is; I quickly spiral up to 770 and the go full afterburner across the map, it works 9 times out of 10 if you manage to get to 770 before they kill you

Oh yeah, I know... I'm saying, once you get up to ~600 tilt all the way forward and level off... you should be around 750 (or 770... lol) and then raise up at like a 30 degree angle and once you get to like 820 lower the angle. When you hit 890 go completely level, and don't go above 905... and hold down the afterburners for the full effect :laugh:Originally posted by Heatseeker_no.1Ok I probably start to level off at 770, I wouldn't go to 900 though untill i'v used the afterburners as you need the speed to get back down, you cant get to 900 with control at normal speed.Comment

1.3 didnt make it hard or easier.........Originally posted by 12:oc7ockbefore 1.3, I'd say yea running is better than going toe to toe with a J-10. But now tehy can be taken down pretty easy.Comment
