So what if they tank whore? Its apart of the game. I don't care who whores what. It don't take a whole lot of skill to tank whore, but I can tell the difference from a lower ranked individual to the high ranked ones when they are in tanks. The high rank usually stays alive longer, the lower ones well they die very often.
Its not about rank all the time but lower ranks like gunner sgt and below tend to be noobs. I rarely ever see a high rank run for a plane and be back on the carrier within 3 minutes of being air bourne. Some people have a fetish for vehicles though, rather they can fly or not.

Yeah kicking for rank is pretty gay. I know Americas Army had a server running 10 honor and below, but thats a server option. If ranking meant anything in this game like AA besides unlocks it'd be pretty cool. Realisitically only officers can become pilots anyway, and to even become an officer you have to go to officer school. So 2nd Lt. and up would be pilots, and all the Enlisted don't get to be.

A newbi pilot can take you down. It all depends on how cocky you get. I've had it happen and even see it happen. Especially if its wake island and they can get in a J-10 which is where the luck, bug that EA has yet to fix. So yeah high ranks that are usually going for a vehicle probally use it alot, and are good enough to help their team.

Kicking someone from a server just because they got a semi high rank, and 2nd Lt isn't even that high. I went from Sgt Major to 2nd Lt with in 3 or 4 days of getting sgt major. So it wasn't that hard but its not a super high rank.

Newbie or not, I tend to ignore Jets now, very rarely see them anyway. Unless stuck on the Wake carrier. Single lined islands perfect for bomb drops, open arty area, open airfields, no real cover. It's an all Jet map
Then you must be really good, thus definitly not allowed in that server lol

I see nothing wrong with them banning ppl above a certain rank, and whilst rank may not completely correlate with skill it is a good indicator, it is simply there to allow the noobs to play without getting completely owned. I think it is a good thing ......

That becomes a matter of kicking out anyone who's better than you.
Then your rank / skill indicator your talking about goes out the window if that's how they rank up points

It has nothing to do with kicking ppl who are better than me/you, it is all about keeping the general skill lvl of the average player at a point where all can enjoy the game without a few "ubers" running around owning everyone, be it in a tank, on foot or whatever.

There needs to be a limit set for noob servers, they cant keep upping the rank as they themselves get better as obvioulsy that defeats the object. However as they own the server Im sure they will allow themselves on for a good old fashioned noob massacre.

"noob" servers or not they are ranked and ANYONE (without modified content and correct patch of course) can play on them. I don't see why this is so hard to comprehend.

Or just someone that wants to keep a "noob" server balanced rank (skill) wise. I just checked that servers player list and no-one is over the rank of gunnery sergeant!! (8000 points)

Ranked server rules or not surely everyone can see why they wouldn't want people with nearly 10 times the amount of points (experience) unbalancing the game.

Now don't get me wrong IndianScout, i respect the work you do (i myself have admined dozens of servers over the last 10 years running many games and mods) but i think there should be some flexibility in the "rules" to allow for "noob" servers.

Of course this would be irrelevant if more experienced players just used common sense and didn't join a server named "noob" in the first place, but in all honesty he probably wanted the easy kills in the first place as it's only a 16 player server and even one experienced player could really upset the balance.....

again for clarity i am a Lieutenant Colonel just so no-one accuses me of playing on that server myself, i also tend to leave servers if all the other player are low ranks as i consider it unfair (not that i am a great player by any means but it just seems cheap mopping up sergeants, etc)

Disagree with me by all means anyone reading this, but surely you can at least partially see it from there point of view??

Exactly. Playing alongside or against players better than you. Your bound to learn something or forever be a noob. If they learnt anything on the noob server, playing easy games where they're not shot down everywhere, stopped being fed by a spoon by mummy, what will happen to them when they decide they're no longer a noob (/ their rank is too high and they have no skill to show for it) and then go play with the bigger boys.
Brief scenario: Spawn, run a lil, OWNED.. spawn, owned, spawn, owned, meds, owned, meds, owned, makes a break for it, owned by sniper, jumps in a tank, owned by jet..
I think they would start a new profile and go back to noob raping
