    Horrible lag problem

    I recently formatted my computer and reinstalled BF2 and still I get this really lag/clippy/losing fps or something problem. Its not internet lag either.

    SPECS
    Intel 3.2 ghz
    Radeon x800xl 6.5 cat
    1 gig ram
    WINXPSP2

    If I'm forgetting anything please let me know.

    Re: Horrible lag problem

    switch your Sound to Software/medium if u dont have a hardware-EAX Soundcard like audigy 4 or better.
    Also another 1 GB RAM solves A LOT of FPS Lag Problems. The Lag at the start of a map is normal with 1 GB RAM and cant be circumvented unless u add more RAM. BF2 must be the most RAM eating game ever made.....huh

        Using latest Drivers? try lowering some video settings and see if it still does it. Have you closed all un-needed background programs Like virus scanners and firewalls?

          Re: Horrible lag problem

          yeah i have all the latest drivers, and all the settings are on low, my computer shouldn't lag, my roomate who aslo plays uses a 3ghz Radeon 9600 and 512 ram runs it smoother than me. that's why i thought it was software issues, but when i formatted it and still nothing, i'm really puzzled.

            Post a DxDiag report in here so we can have a look. Probly wont see anything u havent already looked over, but 1200 pairs of eyes have better success than 1 pair

                  It's not your computer. 1.3 patch ****ed everybody over. Deal with it

                    Re: Horrible lag problem

                    I'm having the same crappy lag, only real change is the patch 1.3, pretty decent machine. Have tried lowering video and audio settings, updating NVIDIA drivers, full 1.3 patch and reinstall of game. Internet is fine (other games no change). So, my only conclusion at this point is that the 1.3 patch is the only variable to have changed.

                    HD2=100.1GB, ST910082 3A SCSI Disk Device
                    DVD1=QSI CDRW/DVD SBW242C
                    CDRW1=DVD+-RW
                    DirectX_Version=9c
                    BIOS1=Phoenix Technologies LTD
                    BIOS2=6.00
                    AGP=NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 (256MB)<~>~-1<~NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 (256MB)>~8<~

                    Only thing that changed was the patch, was always fine with no problems until 1.3.

                    Also, if I hit refresh on my Favorites server list, they all disappear, have to quit,and come back in.
