Day Of Defeat? Do you Like it?

I can run BF2 with no probs. Does it take more to run DOD? What Games do i need to run DOD Source? Im looking for another shooter to play to take away the frustrations of me not ranking up fast enough on BF2.

if your computer can run BF2 then you can certainly run DoDS

as for me, i like DoDS, its fast-fun-arcadey action, oh and all of it is infantry combat.

BUT....

when Red Orchestra came out i was all over that game. it was way better than DoDS. however, it is also the opposite of DoDS. slow-fun-semi-realistic game, some maps ahve armor and infantry mixed.

I used to play DoD like crazy, Clans and all. But DoDs when it was first released was a total mess and completely turned me off the game. Probably a good thing, since it got me into BF2 :)

Anyways, any computer that runs BF2 will rum DoD well. Same with DoDs. Both games use engines older and less intensive than the BF2 engine, respectively the HL1 and 2 engines. DoD:S has been fixed up a bit, so it's still a good game. With the new steam, you need at least silver package to get DoDS. It could have changed with the new buy schemes and such. It's weird these days.

I have DOD (even though I can't play it, $hitty steam) but when I was able to play it, about a year ago it was really good, Sniping is pretty good too, favourite map was de_avalanche.

I didn't like COD1 MP, it felt like a poorly designed frag fest without much direction. Is DoD really similar to CoD MP?

Well not played it in a year, but it was pretty good that map where you can go in several buildings with the Sniper.
