bf2 and bf 2142

Will BF2 completly die when bf 2142 comes out? I know the patches are screwing up the game but hey bf2 is still a quality game. It would be a shame if bf2 were disappear into obscurity when bf 2142 comes out.

I dont like the look of 2142, to be honest I dont like futuristic games so ill hang about in BF2 for a while

2142 could end up like BFV. I think EA made the mistake of releasing battlefield vietnam to soon, everyone was content with BF1942 and their mods, I know I was. even though I bought BFV and played it a week if that, I went back to my BF1942 mods and was happy and BFV sat and collected dust.

I wouldn't think BF2 would disappear beacsue of another EA game, rather it would disappear because the patches and in-game changes make people say "F**k this sh*t!" BF2 could have been a better game than CSS ever was. Unfortunately, for many reasons everything that has ever been fun about the game is being removed with the patches, leaving us with an ever higher number of bugs and issues that take the fun right out of the game.
2142 is going to end up just as buggy and sh*tty as BF2 with the bugs....Same engine, same shaders, same code, no thanks! Bring on QuakeWars!

i think bf2 will neer die, and there will alwyas be enough servers. bf2142 is an alternative and a fresh start for bf2. i dont like WW2, so i dotn play bf1942...makes sense

If EA can make a final patch that corrects all of the problems, hopefully bf2 will become a game that is played for a long time to come.

BF2 won't die out. I'm going to hope that it'll stay up for a long time to come. I am honestly going to hope that 2142 is going to come out and be ALOT better taken care of then BF2 was.

Battlefield series will die as soon there is a simulair gamestyle (to many expansion packs, they call them now boosterpacks because the 'community' won't buy expansionpacks anymore, we are paid alpha (not beta!) testers, etc... etc...).

Quake Wars I hope, hopefully that will teach EA :)

1) BF2 diehards
2) the "i don't care either way"
3) 2142 diehards

There's a lot of different people here. Some like any games and just have fun, while others (like us) prefer the more realistic games.

I just personally wish that they would make bf1942 with the engine/graphics that bf2 uses. I love WW2 games. Maybe someone could make a mod :p

I'm looking forward to Quake Wars like many of all of you. But I'm going to laugh if quake wars ends up being one of the bug infested games of all times and ends up having a community of about 100 people (that being the dev's, and the dev's relatives and friends) because noone likes it and only thought it was cool because of how it looked.

Nope, there are some amazing BF2 mods unfinished/finished.
Mod players will play vanilla to so I dont think
it dice...

My only worry with bf2142 will be if a certain group will also implament a hack for this game too and again take the fun for the majority to another all time low.
