Pain in the *ss

k... it all started on a nice lil server i was playin some karkand... (always fun) and everyting was perfect... next map Sharqi... YEA 1 of my best maps
but its getting better... the chopper was un-maned, however there was 1 other guy which I don't remember his name, we were both flying and killing like machines, no1 can stop us everyting was perfect.. but then all of a sudden my anti-virus started scanning :cry: ... so i was freaking out, atleast i was the gunner not the flyer @ the moment.. but after a few min. when the anti-virus was set of and i tried 2 continu playing i heard the --beeeeppppp-- sound.. (you know the lock-on sound) i knew I was screwed so a sec later i was respawned and said srry with the following sentence to the guy I was flying with: "srry dude my ****ing anti-virus started scanning..."
you all feel it coming... the next message was "you have been banned from the server for 0 min for saying the word -****- ARRGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this all made me write this cause i wanted 2 know how you think of swearing in-game?
i really think its crap that you can get banned for this WITHOUT A SINGLE WARNING!!!!

i mean... whats the problem.. i don't hurt anybody when i say "****" or sometimes even "worse" that evil-hell-spawned word "noob"
i noticed that you can get banned for saying the word noob :S
so whats the problem??? or do I hurt some1's feelings if i swear....?

Yes, and since there isn't "blood and guts and gore" this game only has a "T" rating. Not that a "MA" rating would really stop kids from playing, but maybe that'd give less of a reason to censor language.

I bet the server "rules" at the loading screen say something about swearing and kicking and all that. But no warning is extreme.

On a side note, can you swear over the teamspeak without getting kicked/banned?

In a game where your running around killing everone you see, in my opinion should not be censored. I mean i here 6 year old saying f**k you and f**k off every day (maybe slight exaduration, but you see my point). BUT i dont see them running round killing other kids lol
Most swear words are just common speech nowadays, they actually recon f**k will become just a normal word soon, and other new words will become naughty words. I wonder what those will be? :laugh:

Why the **** cant EA make it so that the server puts '*' on 'naughty' words? Like the forum does. Of course , make it a server option. Does America's Army do it?

From all of my years playing shooters and other mmorpgs little brats shouldn’t be allowed to play these games
I’m not saying this because I don’t like them it just from my experiences that most that I’ve played with are real immature about everything that goes on. Because of them I have stopped playing so many games. Including one of my favorites CSS.
They don’t ever like to be told what to do and they get ****ed off to fast
And when you play online games people should have the right to say what they feel and if parents have problems with the profanity that is said maybe they shouldn’t get the game for their adolescent or get EA/DICE to do what the creators of Guild Wars have done and that is have a feature to turn on or off the profane language.

if EA would only listen to this... wy did they make up such a lame as kick-system instead of the ****-system most games use it... and its great

What I think is that swearing to another player (abusing them) should get them banned, like " you ****ing noob A** ****hole- blah blah blah to another player.

I think they should lay off stuff when you get killed, like ****, i died, something like that

I think it's stupid to ban for swearing. If I were a kid, I wouldn't be offended by swearing. In fact, I don't know any kid who would be unless they were some Rod and Todd religious zealot. Banning is a huge overreaction to swearing. I don't understand why servers just to use language filters and forget about it. But apparently some people are offended by astericks too. It's even more annoying in an M-rated game liked Counter-Strike Source. Porn sprays, blood, etc. but as soon as I say ****, I get kicked.
