Full Patch 1.3 failure

I've noticed that the patch itself has no Patch.exe file!

Start up the patch, choose language, and then stop at the Installation screen thing.

Go to Start/Run, type in %temp%, and then go to view and arrange the folders by modified.

The LAST folder icon (with all of the letters and numbers encased in {these things})has another numbered folder witin it that contains the bits you need to copy and paste into your BF2 root folder to do a manual patching.

However, EA instructs one to use the patch.exe file and there isn't one!! I've downloaded the full patch from Fileplanet, EA, Filefront, and Strategy-somethin'-or-other.com, and NONE have had the .exe file!!

I presently have a ticket in with EA to see if they can resolve this issue.

Is this a known thing? Sorry, but EA's response to my queries were to manually patch using this method, but, without an .exe file, you can't. Anyone else having this problem oughta check out the method above and see if they, too, don't have the .exe file. Perhaps it's something that effects certain computers or configurations??? Any thoughts?

Why are you stopping the patch at the installation screen?

Just go ahead and let it install. Who cares what is in the temp files that it creates, just let it do its thing.

I'm assuming he means the patch stops working at this point, not that he is stopping it form going.

Do you have any antivirus running? Try turning it off and try the patch then...

No guys it fails on its own. I'm beyond that. Using EA manual patch method. Still doesn't work...

Pull all of your system memory sticks out except for 1. Install the patch and then put the other stick(s) back in. It's the only thing that worked for me.. I've posted it before.

It's completely crazy I know... but it works.

I had to do this on patch 1.22

Like he said, crazy, but it worked. I also had to set all my overclocking back to stock. All is fine now!!!

Thanks for reposting I read that info previously but didn't think it would work. Well I stand corrected.


I now have the 48% geomitry CTD any ideas on that?

That is a known bug. Just join again and you should be ok.

AHHHHHHH please help, im over all the dam problems with EA.

well, i have a problem with bf2. Ihave downloaded the v1.3 full patch, but no other patch be4, i dont know if this is the problem. but when i try to log into my account server it loads like usual, and just doesnt change screens to the lobby??????? i move the mouse around and the mouse icon "2" stops spinning when i put it over certain places on the screen? wtf? does any1 have any ideas???

few questions:
1. do i have to download any other patch be4 the v1.3 full patch? if yes, do i need to uninstall the patch 1.3 be4 downloading the others?

2.do i need to create another account?

3. wtf is wrong with it!!!!!!

i would appreciate your help alot if you could suplly sum answers.

But what if your using a AMD 54, arent you ment to keep to keep memorys sticks in, in pairs?
