just like the topic says would u get bf1942 if ea re-released it with the bf2 engine. i know they did a couple of levels with the bfv engine but im talking bout if they did the whole game with the bf2 engine.

I would, even if they included stats. BF1942 was a great game when it was released. If it came out with the BF2 engine I'd buy it!

Although they'd have to add in some new supprises, vanilla BF1942 is long in the tooth now.

I hope after 2142, DICE goes back to WW2 and designs a brand new game under the BF2 engine and with all the great features like commander, squads, stat tracking, ironsights, etc.

I would pay good money for a DICE made WW2 game on the PC only. (excluding bf42 and expansions obviously because I have already played the crap out of them years ago)

well id like 1942 with the squad options and that, but using the bf2 engine we would'nt be able to have moving aircraft carriers would we?

If they ever do redo BF1942, I hope they include ships. It takes away a lot by not having them in BF2...

I would buy it, as long as they stuck to the feel of the original BF42 and not nerf the **** out of it when people start bitching.

Basically, if they released BF42 with the updated Refractor engine that BF2 uses and only use it to take advantage of the graphical features, I would be all for it.

Stat or not, Bf42 + Bf2 engine would be great, a whole lot harder than the current "run around a corner, bump into an enemy and just empty 30 rounds in his general direction and hope he cops it first". Imagine running round that corner with an Enfield mk1, or a K98! And after 5 minutes of cocking and firing and neithers gone down, having to switch to your revolver. Ohhh the good old days.

Tank battles were so much harder too.

It would really sort the good players from those who just have faster computers!
