Ok, so we have basicly isolated the problem to your computer. All your other games play fine, but BF2 is VERY system intensive. I'm going to go overboard here, but it does not take long and it will limit time needed to keep testing new ideas and theories:
1)If your system or video card is overclocked in anyway, un-do it now (we can always o/c it again later)
2)Uninstal BF2 and all files associated with it (a pain I know, but work with me)
3)Uninstall your video card driver after d/l'ing latest driver off net-do not install it yet.
4)Reboot.
5)Reinstall video card driver. Reboot.
6)" BF2 only. reboot.
7)Patch with 1.3. Reboot
8)Open BF2, adjust video settings to MEDIUM (not all settings, just OVERALL)
9)Restart BF2. Attempt to go online and play
10)Smile if it works (curse if it doesn't)
This HAS to work.
