"There is a problem with your connection". why is this happening?????

Ever since I installed v. 1.3 It's almost impossible to complete a game. I usually get the "There is a problem with your connection" thing in the middle of my game. This happens about 4 out of 5 games that I play. The really annoying thing is that it always happens when I play a game from the beginning and disconnects me right before the end of the game. I'm pretty sure I lose all points for that round when that happens but I'm not sure.

    My Specs...
    Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 MB
    AMD 64 3200+
    1 gig Kingston pc3200 ram
    ATI X700 pro Graphics
    SB Audigy2zs

    My Settings...
Medium on everything except draw distance at 100%.
    No AA or AF.

Am I the only one this is happening too?

I probably need to just reinstall everything again. I just need a second opinion or third or fourth.

    PLEASE HELP!!!!

It's not you, it's the servers. 1.3 is making them very unstable and crash prone. EA's supposedly working to fix it, but in the mean time just deal with it, nothing anyone can do.

Yep happening to me ..today its the worst its been . Completed one round it about 6 attempts . Also had my best round ever and the game crashed with bout 20 tickets to go. Extremely frustrating . What i would like to know is how a game is running fine then there is a patch brought out and everything goes to sh#@t. Do they test the patches thoroughly enough , do they test them at all?

I got the same message while playing ON MY COOP SERVER ON THE SAME MACHINE as I was playing on. It must be a bug.

That is very interesting...proof-positive of DICE/EA fault and not the community/servers/etc.

You will get the connection problem with patch 1.3

My ISP and I has been thru the mill and we have probably some of the finest internet from a packet's view on both my end and ISP's.

The servers are crashing because the game is broken and needs fixing.

Some of the more "beefier" servers can stay up longer but they too eventually crash.

I can see that, I play mostly on EA UK servers as before I was a net cafe gamer and had no time to look for English speaking servers as I'm in the Netherlands. Even then they crash sometimes, I always notice when they do and get out before it screws mith my time.

That being said I suppose I'll do the same at home now that I did at the cafe, see it go down get out before you freeze up. It's a good thing I really enjoy this game, enough so that I bought this Pc (racked up 400 at cafe g/f finally caved!) I'm a geek.

This is happening to me too its driving me nuts. I get kicked some times with only 10 tickets left other times i cant even play the game for 2 mins and i get kicked. Its just happening to me not the whole server. I have tried to play on a bunch of servers and the same ting happens the only thing that changes is the amoutn of time im allowed to play before i crash. Its weird tho i was fine for about a week and then this started to happen to me. I have noticed my ping has jumped from its norm of 40-50 to 90-120. Dont know whats wrong but i hope ea fixes it quick.

It could be a PunkBuster problem too. After I manually updated PB the "There is a problem with your connection" gotten worse (happens every 5 seconds)...

I've started getting this exact same problem since I've installed the 1.3 patch. I can start up BF2, nps, join a server, but as soon as the server loads up, I get 'There is a problem with your connection' followed 20 seconds later by the server selection screen and 'The connection to your server has been lost'

This is of course, AFTER I spent 20 minutes looking through forums to discover I have to wait for the server to load and not click 'Join Game'.. because that will CTD...

                          /sigh.

                          /praying for a Fix soon.

*edit* Oh, and btw, I have tried everything I have come across, from running only one CPU core (running a dual core CPU), to turning off VOIP, EAX, setting priority to low. Uninstalling, re-installing.. Um.. oh, defragging, turning off everything in the background. Using a program to clear my RAM.. anything I missed?

Again, there may be some issues that cause individuals to CTD on their end, but the server crashing is due to 1.3, hence there is not one single thing you can do to avoid it.

Whats kind of amusing is that my brother is on the identical connection downstairs in my house (both on wireless) and his has never yet crashed due to the reason mine does.. and his computer is nowhere near as good as mine is.. /boggle.
