    EA Breaks Silence!

Found this from EA's 'Community Manager':

We're very much aware that we appear to have gone into "radio silence" since the patch last week, and I apologise for a lack of more concrete information at this time.

We are currently forwarding all the comments made with reference to the latest patch to the development team and we expect to receive an update on the next steps in the near future.

Once again, we can hardly avoid knowing the general consensus on the latest patch from the forum community here and we are making sure the right people know about it. The lack of information coming from us is certainly not ideal at present and we will be recitfying that situation.
So they've apologised for not saying anything by not actually saying anything...

that's just what I was thinking. Always covering something up, instead of just plainly saying: We screwed up, we're sorry and WILL be correcting our mistake.

That would do a whole lot for their rep, to admit it.

But we all know that will never happen.

The server providers have been up in arms about 1.3 and EA knows it. They (the providers) have absolutely zero ability to do anything about the problems, and EA is taking their time coming up with a solution pretty much saying "we know, we're working on it" without giving any time frame or hints at WHAT exactly they are working on.

This is pretty much the public version of what they've been saying to server providers.

Can you cite your sources please? Is this from CKMC or EA UK Protagonist? Sentience? Those guys from EA UK are normally the ones trying to help.

It sounds to me like some people at EA/DICE, really are trying to do something, but other people couldn't care less.

Oh and "in the near future" to them means within two months. Don't get your hopes up guys, even if there is a hotfix, it would need to be tested, which takes at least two weeks.

                    Thanks for that.

Yep, not surprising, the EA UK guys seem to be the only people from EA worldwide that actually dare to communicate. Thank god for Protagonist and Sentience. I honestly believe those guys are trying hard to sort things out, unfortunately they don't make the decisions.

also they don't have any information either - take patches for example, they are usually out before they even know about it
                      sucks for them working blind

An official update on progress, so not only do they not know why it's happening or when it will be fixed THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING TO FIX IT.

Sorry for the caps but eesh do you like working for EA, cos I don't think I could stomach it myself :p

From one of the multiplay blokes an hour ago:

You can all expect an official announcement from EA on this matter very soon.

We might actually hear something concrete soon.

It's called "Public Relations". Take some business classes.

Their quote admits that they made a mistake by not communicating more, acknowledges all the issues raised by the community regarding 1.3 bugs, and assures us that they have been taking action to rectify the situation. They expect an update from their programming team "in the near future".

What more do you want? They apologized, but in the wrong words? Grow up, seriously.

Thats exactly the kind of BS a manager feeds to his boss or customer when he did nothing and knows that it is easiet to just pass the bucket to some anonymous 'development team', that is usually in india or outer mongolia. yeah, i am an it project manager too. Being sorry for poor communication is a necessary part - you need to take a bit of blame. As small as possible.
