Ram usage

Hello,

Could you tell me what settings would I have to put to get my Ram usage in BF2 around 800mb? All on medium, AA and Dynamic thingies off? Sound quality too medium, and EAX off. Should I get 800mb ram usage with these settings?

have you tried going into the game and alt+tab to desktop then ctrl+alt+del to get taskmanager up and looking at its usage? ive seen mine is 350-500 that was wen i had 1gb no idea now

It's stupid that I have to play with low sound detail or either on low video settings... I hate this pc! WHY CAN'T IT WORK CORRECTLY?

the usual solution is: add another 1 GB ram. I have a very similar PC
3000+ XP
2 GB DDR 400 RAM
Elitegroupe (w000t) Nforce 2 Ultra MoBo
6800 GT
Audigy 4
and i can play with all settings high, EAX on with ~40 FPS on 64ish maps.
2 GB is a need to play BF2 smooth imho. Sad issnt it?
PS: Make sure your Sound and GPU dont share a IRQ. I had sound "farts" with both on the same IRQ. Switching the Soundcard on a different PCI slot solved it.

I play mid/High/low AA4x 1280x1024 and my ram usage is around 800mb

I wish my PC only used 800mb of ram. I play on max settings 1280x1024 & ultra high sound. Over my physical ram and page file I use up 2.2GBs :shock:

I seem to be fine at all high settings with only 1gb memeory...The only lag I get is when first dropping into the game, just for about a minute. Other than that, I run just great.

Depense what fps you call ''running just great'' Running all high causes serious freezes with 1gb ram imo.
