Just when Battlefield 2 was released, a user in the BF2 UK forums announced he would sue EA/DICE for false advertisement. Do you know what happened? It never happened, and that attempt had far more momentum than this one. It was a hot topic back then and I belive some users who played BF2 for almost a year now will recall some parts of it.

Gatoraid (or Gatorade as it's maketed in the US) was designed as a highend nutrial replacement for ultra-active athletes who lose large amounts of salts and electrolites during strenious activity. The idea was to create a fluid that would absorb quickly and easily into the blood system to avoid the shock of depletion. The problem is that it's absorbed so quickly that it hammers your kidnies.

FYI, because of this, professional sports rejected the use of Gatoraid. You know those big coolers you see on football fields? They're full of water. Gatoraid pays the federations to put their name on the coolers despite the players not drinking it. Also, because it was rejected by pro-sports, the company had to find a new market. They turned to selling it to the masses because they are easy to sway, don't check their facts, and is much bigger anyway. "Make it look cool and people will kill themselves with it while handing you their money", is a popular unoffical motto for these guys.

Point is, I'm a big game fan, but I'm also into the real world. There's some truely evil crap going on these days. That's why I simply can't get bent out of shape over recreational activities that don't hurt anyone.

Man... I feel like ranting off about the abuse of the World Bank and the International Banker's Assosiation (some of who's members make more money in a day than Microsoft makes in a year... and it all comes right outta our pockets). I'll leave some of the world's evils for you folks to discover on your own, tho.

the most ironic thing about the mcdonalds case, was the lady just wanted them to cover her medical bills... less than $1000.. McD's wasn't up for that.. so they went to a higher court.. and got owned. :)

Every single coffee i've bought at Starbucks has always been boiling hot. Would i attempt to drink it when i knew it was that hot? nope. I waited til it cooled.

If she had managed to take a good healthy swig, what do you think it would have done to the inside of her mouth?

Why would she take a swig when she

A) Felt the heat on her hand from the container
B) Knew that the drink named 'coffee' is supposed to be a HOT drink?

1. The only people that make money off of class action lawsuits are lawyers.

Society allows stupid people to do stupid things, and common sense is not a excuse. Having said that anyone who can file a legal document can "sue". Why do people not sue? The person that loses, has to pay the person that wins legal costs. That is why most compainies settle out of court.

Keeping in mind I am not a lawyer, we can all agree this simple formula can calculate your loss playing BF2.

Take the time you spend playing and divide it into the cost of the game. I am sure you will find it is cheaper than going to the movies.

For people arguing that the EULA states something like "online gameplay may change", it is only relevant for online gameplay. What of the people that patched their BF2 just to play single player for whatever reasons? (assuming they exist). If someone had the balls and the money to do it then I'm sure EA would atleast settle out of court just for PR damage control alone seeing as how they have tons of critics.

What someone really needs to do is to set a legal precedent to get developers to stop advertizing products as being final when the users know they are paying to be a beta tester. I wouldn't mind buying a product that says WIP or beta on the box, just don't sell me a half assed ****ing game with bugs that have been present since BF1942 or changes considerably with every patch. If gamers were more aware of what they were buying then no one would have a reason to come here and bitch with every update.

As someone said above, coffee's generally HOT. You dont chug coffee because it could seriously mess up your insides. With that in mind, the lady sued because it was too hot and she burnt herself, rather badly I might add. As sad as it may be that she burnt herself, it was her own fault.

Mcdonalds put a "THIS COFFE IS HOT" warning on the coffee so now when people try to CHUG the damn coffee that's boiling hot, they wont get sued.
