    Class action lawsuit anyone?

If an old lady can sue McDonalds because she found her coffee too hot and spilled it on herself, I think this is plausible.

Forget the boycott, who knows a lawyer?

I like it when people refer to the McDonalds case. You must not know a whole lot about the case.

The coffee was around 200F and caused 3rd degree burns....

            Oh lordy!
Hehe, the number of times I've seen people bring up class action in the games industry...

            I've even seen one filed.
            None have ever gotten anywhere.

Thing is, there's this little clause in the EULA. "On-line game play my change". Broken = changed. However, the product you purchased still functions the same way it did when you purchased it (minus patches, it's still the same product that came out of the box). Thus, no case.

Let's also try to remeber that we've actually got it perty good. The last few FPS I got into make's EA's support of BF2 look golden.

I know this doesn't help at all if yer fuming over problems... but snoop around 'n try to find solutions until 1.31 comes out.

I'm reasonably sure that after every 1.X0 BF2 release, this same issue has been brought up. Are we really suprised that there's some issues? It's happened every time. It's not until 1.X1 - 3 that things "normalize" again.

I know the case. She spilled it on her lap. Had she not been so clumsy, she would not have incurred 3rd degree burns. The next question is should the coffee have been that hot? That's debatable. Apparently, a lot of people liked McDonalds coffee precisely because it was so hot. I think their coffee bites, but that's just me.

The essence of the reference to the McD's case is that some people sue for stupid reasons, and 1.3 is, in my opinion, a tad bit above a mere stupid reason. Not being able to play a game you paid for is "somewhat" of a case in my opinion.

                Just my 2 cents...

Sorry dude, but the essence of the case is that products sold to the public shoule not be capible of causing bodily harm through casual use without a warning of some type. If the lady in question (whom history has painted as clumbsy and silly for sueing) had actually attempted to drink that coffee, she could have caused herself serious injuries to her mouth.

It was a public safty case.

Now, unless your BF2 CD mananges to explode and embeds fragments into your head, there's really no compairson.

(I only pick that link because first, it's #1 on Google [:p], and second, it's very easy to read and skim through. Bottom-line, McDonald's was at fault.)

BF2 1.3 is driving me crazy...does that qualify?

Actually the answer is no. By law it has to be below a certain temp and that coffee was way over the "legal limit"

The mcdonalds case was beyond cheap. I cant stand people that take large companies to court over stupid stuff like that just to make millions. Its cheap, and I think very little of you just for making this thread.
