Is it me, or the patch did create some botanical wonders?

I hope this is the first thread on this, I've never seen one before... Is this new, or I have been blind during my previous 200 hours of playing?

I spend most of my time as a sniper, which means that one of my favourite habitats is a nice, green bush. I have been hiding in bushes for a long time now, but yesterday, on my first day of BF2 1.3, I noticed something peculiar: those leaves are now able to stop 7.62 bullets! I was hiding in one of them on Oman, at the construction site, and I saw a lonely AT running at my direction. I aimed, shot, and voilá! Nothing happened. He stopped moving. I shot him again, with no effect. I also heard the sound of my bullets hitting something, so I crawled out of the bush, an finally I got my kill. Later, today I tested it, and indeed, a new species kevlar-shrubs have been planted all over the Middle-East and China, that can stop any kind of bullet. (I haven't tested At missiles or tanks, but my pistol and my rifle is absolutely useless against this wonder of nature).

I just went on a server to purposly try this out. It appears the outer branches effect the bullets in no way what so ever. However, the inner branchs do. I can't remember if this used to be the case befor 1.3....hmm. Anyone still got 1.22 or earlier installed?

One of the recent POTD showed C4 'growing' in a bush....I'm fairly sure thats new. It appears the C4 will only stick on the same inner branchs that effect the bullets. Maybe some of the models have been changed in the new patch :cry:

Either way it doesnt effect me much coz I've never been much of a tree hugger, but I see how it sucks for you.....

if you could see him from inside a bush but couldnt shoot him that sounds to me like your using a chamz hack!
think about it you can see him coming but cant kill him now if you cant kill him that means some thing is in front of you but!,
you can see him there for the only way of doing this is by using a chamz hack as theres no way of seeing through a bush!

im not saying you are hackin but the statment just seems a bit strange

Maybe they replaced bullets with bean bags because people complained they were being shot too much?

ya kno what. I was anti-tank and an enemy hijacked our humvee on that hill on the US left spawn in Karkand and was shooting at me. I fired 2 anti-tank missile at him, they came in low to the ground and both, to my amzement, looked like they hit the grass and exploded. I couldn't believe, after the first I thought it was a little ridge or something I hit, the second one should have hit, if the grass was transparent.

I have made some screenshots from the same map and the same bush. It is clearly visible, that nothing obstructs my view except from some branches on the sides. Also, I am not using any kind of hack.

yup ya have proof.
but i didnt mean it to sound like you were hackin just that it seemd abit funny.
ive had the same thing happen to me on warlord SF at the first check point on the left were ya air drop in.

That is some crazy **** about the bushes. Does that mean you cant drive through them either?

It has always been there. It happens when you try to stick C4 on a vodnik/humvee. Sometimes you will notice that the C4 disppears but the icon is still there, that's because the outer layer is the same as the new bushes in 1.3.

I think its because bullets come from your torso and not the gun...or is that just AT missiles?

If thats the case its cuz ur torso is on or behind the branches.
