You could change to windowed mode to see if there is a pop up message that your missing. Set the attribute FullScreen = 1 to FullScreen = 0 then start the game.

Re: Getting dropped to windows.
That is commonly referred to as CTD or Crash To Desktop. There are about 100 threads here about the problem. Feel free to browse this or the support forum, or maybe even use the search forums option to find more information on this problem.

To be brief:Originally posted by iburnassesI randomly drop to windows, but get no error or illegal application message. This is starting to happen more and more frequently.Does anyone else have this problem?
Yes. It is noticibly worse after patch 1.3 also. Solutions are shadey at best.

Much more widespread after the 1.3 patch. Another major problem with the new patch would be the amount of time required to axcess the acount server while logging on. I'm sure that EA will (attempt to) fix these problems.

Thanks guys for giving the man a fish. I was trying to teach him to fish for himself. Things like using search or looking for the appropriate forum rather than posting a redundant thread. You know, things that make for better forum users.

Or drive him to avoid fish all together.
Whats one more thread gonna hurt? He now knows (thanks to your great advice) how to search for answers. He also has some insight (thanks to others) as to some areas to explore.
Searching crash to desktop, I got 15 pages when I searched this forum alone.

Re: Getting dropped to windows.
Is that always such a bad thing? Personally I wouldn't mind if users who didn't know how to use the forums left and went somewhere else. I know that sounds harsh, but I've been developing software for almost 15 years and am sick of users who don't take the few seconds to use the great and convenient tools made available to them. Things that are right in front of their faces, like search and stickies and even different forum topic groupings.Originally posted by DosXOr drive him to avoid fish all together.
It's like a guy asking you what time it is when there is a clock hanging above their head. By telling him what time it is you are an enabler. I prefer to say, "hey, there's a clock above your head. why don't you use it?".
