Long way from Gunnery Sergeant to Master Sergeant

Man o man. I've played this game quite a bit and im only to 8,000 points and you need to 20,000 til the next level! I'll never make it that far which sucks cause there are still a couple guns id like to unlock. How are some of you guys getting so many points? The way im figuring it, if I played a couple rounds a day for an average of 200-300 points that means it would take me about 2 frikkn months til i would get to 20,000 points damn!!!!!

Wait til you hit Master/First Sergeant and need 30,000 points for promotion to Master Gunnery Sergeant. That trully sucks.

I have plugged away for the last 2-3 monthes and i still need around 4000 points but my aim is to get 25000 points before Quake wars comes out and then BF2 can go in the bin

I feel ya! I just got 1st shirt, and have a little over 28000 points left to go before Sgt Maj. My advice would be to play as commander as much as you can, and when you aren't, play in a squad. Also try and work towards badges ribbons and medals you don't have, even though they don't help you in game at all, trying to get them will make the points fly by. Also, if you haven't already, join a clan, being in a clan has kept me on and active in bf2. In fact I probably would have uninstalled it by now, if it wasn't for being in a clan, plus working as a squad using VOIP, Teamspeak, or something of the like will also get you some points that you wouldn't be getting otherwise.

i was very similar to u when i got there but now im over 19000 so wont be long

just keep to it and just play for fun it will come around before u know it

im currently on 100.000 just under,
i get 2000-3000 points a day just lately only due to tank whorin thou.
ive been playing it every day(well every day this year,unable to work) since purchased last year when released.
the points do get easyer as you get more used to how the game works.
theres loads of little things you can do to boost your stats.
stick with it dude you'll get there.
i think the hardest jump is the 20k to the 50k that took me for ever as i was newto the game at that score

1) Announce to your friends / relatives / significant others that you will not be available for anything at all for about two weeks
2) Quit your job / stop going to school
3) Buy one of those camping potties and sit on that while you play (with your pants down, preferably)
4) Install a refrigerator in your room with plenty of Mountain Dew and bologna sandwiches to keep you nourished / hydrated / jittery
5) Play BF2 for as long as you can every single waking moment until you get to 20,000 points

If that's too extreme, then perhaps you can work on getting more points per round. Consider being a medic. It has the power of assault class with the added benefit of revives and heals. Mucho team points.

But if being a medic isn't your thing, then just play what you like and don't worry about the dang unlocks. The weapons aren't all THAT different.

I got to 1st and need to reach 50k for the next one, to collect 30k points for a fkn gun is just silly, unles you're a bf2 nerd....to me. thing is im not so easily entertained so I'm waiting for QW and/or bf2142 instead in which i can make a fresh start for the first time w/out having to 'catch up' w the rest:)

I'm on for another long haul too... from 61,000ish to 75,000. The 50,000 to 60,000 is so short, I was wearing that rank for about a week

If I'm lucky, I can get about 100 points a day. Hard to get points when you're constantly getting killed by One-Hit-Wonders. You know, those guys with the G15's that have a button macro'd to ProneRollAim in an instant.

Be nice if the guns actually *worked* too. Unloaded a DAO-12 in a guy's *face* and then he knifed me. WTF??? Kinda hard to get points like that.
I always play on servers with the lowest ping too.

I feel your pain, since I'm in the same boat. I have to disagree with the g15 statement. I don't even use the macro's, I only use mine to see the scores and such on the lcd screen.

Wish I could go up in rank as fast in BF2 as I have in here!!!!
