Please download the full patch, some of you have a bad incremental download that cause servers to crash at the moment you are joining the server.

I suggest next time to download the full patch anyhow, saves you from a lot of problems.

Or do a basic MD5/SHA1 hash checking before installing the patch

You are stating that gamers with a faulty patch are causing server crashes? That does not sound feasible. That servers with faulty patches are crashing and having stablility problems is already known and being addressed by EA.

I think he is referring to the CTD that is caused by the incremental patch when some players are hitting "join" button after loading the map. This is client side and doesnt effect the server.

I downloaded both the incremental and full patch. I tried the incremental first... had all kinds of problems joining a server... then re-installed everything with the full patch... so far so good with the full version. I could get into one out of ten servers I tried without CTDing before.

Something to do with the clients account name that is not responding well with the server

I have the incremental. Have had it since it was unofficially released. I CTD on 1 outta maybe 20 servers that i try. SO its not big deal for me.

no it isnt EA/DICE already released a post on there web site an also got shown here cleary stating that it was an up date to the gamespy an bf2 servers,
to work with the latest patch that was casuing the servers to crash an make errors.
i think you should read more forums next time an stop making utter crap up that you have no evidence to proove.
i have the full patch installed an its CTD 2 times since installed.
do a search in here an you might find the article it was originaly on page one!

crashing to desktop is not caused by the servers!
the clients name casued the server to crash,lmfao thats the biggest load of b0ll0x ive every heard.
wheres the evidence?
server crash's is caused by the patch update.
all this has been posted by EA an shown in tbf2 forums from the 2nd day the patch was released,
it took 3 days for EA to release a post on the website saying what the problem was!
in which it got posted here!
its the patch they used to update the servers that was the problem causing the servers to crash!
read a couple of other post.
the CTD was just a couple of the problems that came with it.
the incremental an full patch did not make any servers crash its the update that EA did with the bf2 an gamespy servers as ive already mentioned.
