    Increased requirements with 1.3?

I've done a couple of forum searches and nothing relevant was thrown up.

Hae they increased the system requirements with 1.3 patch?

I was getting pretty good frame rates with my poor old 9800 Pro, in 1024x768 with a couple of things turned off or on "low", with textures on medium and geometry on high. I had dynamic lighting on low, simply to get a muzzle flash or two.

However with the same settings, at least the same as well as I can recall- it's been over a month since last played- the game seems to suffer from much more slow down.

Not lag, or the Ram leak associated stuttering, but good old fassioned slowdown.

Any advice? and for the next two months buying a new graphics card in not a viable suggestion :p

Slowdown and higher requirements are related.
The issues you are seeing look like they are being caused by poor paging or RAM management.

None of you people are listening to him........

He said that the game was running fine, now after patch the performance has dropped.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU POST THE GENERIC ANSWERS!!!!!

i have the same problems, and I have noticed that the FPS drops when looking in certain directions. It also appears to be a random thing, because looking in that direction again later on it will be fine.

I have had to drop my view distance to 95% which has helped a bit.

Well before you go off at people, there only tring to help. Telling him lower HIS VIEW DISTANCE is not help anyway youth. YOu are serverly disadvantaged by doing that.

And also, there's storey (few i agree and am dubious about these claims) that people have had IMPROVED performance from 1.3 lol. I find it hard to believe this though with the amount of children on here lol.

Only things i could think is if uses x2/opty proccessor, download the latest (MAY) x2 drivers from AMD but i think you'll find generally, THe specs of the game with all the accumilated bugs/glitches and stupid added features to sugar coat it is causing this problem.

Make sure you have latest video derivers as well

Yeah, I get this, been getting it since 1.2
Oddest thing how a "magical area" (it can even be a plain mountainside) will make it lag bad, but after walking/driving through it the lag disappears.
Afterwards it usually behaves normal, though the affected spot might show up elsewhere- temporarily, ofc.

Flying is another story for me: the spot will remain in one place, show up every time I'm near it. Bombing over West Mine on FuShe is a baaaaad idea

I've gotten frustrated with the idea of altering settings trying to make this work, then having to optimize shaders all over again... for nothing.
              Just wish they'd fix it

right, press the ` (tild) key next to the number 1 on your keyboard. THis will bring down a menu. Before typing anything, press backspace cause quality DICE programming once more has another bug where ` brings the menu down and puts a ` in the menu as well. lol. Gotta love EA/DICE!!!!

                ANyway, type in:

                renderer.drawfps 1

This will show you your FPS andwhen you look at these areas, check that your FPS arnt suddenly dropping andf that its the game, not your FPS

Long shot i know but viewing distances at long range can cause this

its funny you should mention that, When the BF2 came out i was playing it with a ge-force 5500 and played with no lag or any other issues , now many patches later , my pc cant cope with BF2. im having to rebuild another PC.

In the UK if a shop sells an item that advertises in black and white what the requirements are and they sold several thousand and then added a patch so you would have to go out and buy better hardware, it would be a call to trading standards. It would be going to the shop and asking for a mars bar and getting an apple. Is it possible ? Would EA do that? Sadly you will stil get folk by this game now and think , ooh my pc will play that and there systems are not coping and there shaking there head in confusion , but it should play.

We will see when the new add on comes out if the system requirements are different, it shouldnt be as its an add on, not a brand new game.
