i recently upgraded from integrated intel to a 128mb nvidia 6600GT and now when i start up bfv i get lag for about the first 5 or so minutes, then it runs smoothly. Same thing happens with bf2 so i dont see whats going on here. i was considering gettin some more ram (512 right now) but i dont get why it never lagged like this when i first enterd bfv before. Would it fix the problem? btw my AGP arpeture is set on 256.

You sexy fool, you! LOL
Prolly RAM. I have a gig and a 512mb card, I get lag at the start but not too bad and only for maybe 30 seconds. -

agreed, its ram. I had lag at the start of rounds w/1gb, went to 2gb and its MUCH smoother.
On another note though, I would lower the agp aperature size, here's something I pulled off of a website to better explain it to you, on your rig I'd probably run it at 64mb.
AGP Aperature Size
This is a measure of the amount of your main system memory (measured in MB) is available to your AGP video card for serving its memory needs. Obviously, this needs to be set correctly so as not to harm performance. After all, allowing too little memory for AGP may mean that your video card does not have enough memory to store complex textures. Setting it too high can either have no effect (if you have lots of system RAM to spare) or have a negative effect if your video card takes too much memory to itself, while not leaving enough for other software running in your PCComment

Yeah it's definitely ram. I have 2gig and a 6600 agp card and BF2 runs like normal at the start of games.Comment
