Why Do We Have To Log In To Play Single Player???

Why the heck do we have to log in to play SP when we don't get any awards or ranks or points?

If we have to log in to play SP, at least give us a separate points/ranking/awards system.

    Damn hippies!

if you creat an offline user - you won't have to "login"

It already knows I'm a valid user by it having the CD Key.

          Thanks for the offline tip.

you may be an "offline" user. I have both. If you create an offline user, you don't need an email address, and you can use any username you want. I've got an offline account called "Administrator" just to test it going to the account server.

Yes, i know that, but the guy above me said "no account, no play". I was questioning him. sorry for confusion.

When you first install BF2 you have to have an account. After you have one all is good to go. But when you log in you have to have an account (online or offline) another way to make sure that only one user is using it (copy of BF2)at one time. (So no more than one person at a time can play on one copy with punkbuster servers) If you connect to a local server with punkbuster with the same using the bf2 game from the same cd on more than one pc you will be kicked or banned. (This is uploaded to punkbuster by the way)

                      Because EA/DICE hates us.

"Because EA/DICE hates us" doesn't make any since at all. You just need to login to play makes since to me.

You just have to log in. So you can retrieve your profile from anywhere. Makes since and there is no problem with logging in to bf2 for single player or multiplayer.

Not entirely true. My friend and I use the same disks when we play online when we visit each other (we both have 2 comps lan'ed together) and while we installed BF2 on them with our individial keys, we can still use the same disk. It is the KEY that is associated with the ACCOUNT, not the CD itself.
