Special Forces Installation error

I am having a lot of trouble getting SF to install. At first I had the shaders error after I installed it, so I uninstalled it and BF2 and reinstalled BF2.

Now when I am installing SF, it comes up with an error: "Failed to install Battlefield 2:Special Forces, try again from the beginning." when it gets to installing the intro movie.

I have tried again from the beginning but to no avail. I also tried patching BF2 up to 1.3 since that is where it was when i originally installed SF but it still didnt work.

I now found a way to fix the shader error but now I cant even get the damn thing installed.

If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

I know this sounds bad, but here goes:

Uninstall (again) and delete all files (search EA directory and kill those too)
Reinstall BF2 (do NOT install patch)
restart computer
Install SF (auto-patches to 1.1)
restart computer
Install 1.3 patch
restart computer

Should be good now, pain in the arse, I know.

And what is the sequence if you also have Euro Forces.

Install EF patch to 1.22 or 1.3, use the download the full patch from gamershell.com and apply it.

Well I tried it again but it still didnt work. Do you think I need to install BF2 in the default directory for SF to work? I have been installing it on my other hard drive because it's faster but maybe I will try installing it to default directory.
