Re: Do you have a microphone?

I have a mic, but hate using it. It seems weird to talk to strangers on the computer. I know that it's basically the same as using a phone, but it still seems weird to do.

my mic came with bf2 =)

        it's a piece of junk.

biased poll - of course people loyal enough to BF2 to check forums own and use mics

I find that I use my mic the most when I'm in Commander mode....especially when people aren't doing what I tell them. Even if they don't respond I know they can hear me calling them jackasses for losing the round...heh

problem with people that don't have mics can't even hear people that do

no mic - means no VOIP - not even Rx

Re: Do you have a microphone?

              I have a mic..have I ever used..not alot.

Usually no one is using it, and then when someone is Im not.
Alot of the time I get the "garble garble" out of my speakers, or "whisper whisper" and i think WTF was that..So then I come to the conclusion that why bother it it sounds like $hit sometimes.

Im not much of a talker anyways but I listen, I use my Roger, and Neg alot.
Just to inform people that Im paying actual attention. Using all the responses helps a ton, it iforms people your there and functioning as a team player.
Even if you dont like to talk or dont own a mic basic yes or no's help.

And to honest Ive stumbled into the squad with the kid squeaky and asking every 2 minutes if we could hear him. And my english as a second language folks, Im sorry for all the times Ive had no idea wtf was going on. I try my damnest sometime, it just sometimes I have no idea what there saying and I feel terrible.

and my headset gives me a headache, Im a b1tich I know.

Re: Do you have a microphone?

I don't do that headset sh1t due to sound quality.. I have 2 bookshelf speakers hooked up to a reciever which recieves its signal from my audigy 2 platinum. I have an old mic thats hooked onto a stand-type-thing that holds it about 6 inches from my mouth (it rests on my desk) some people complain that they cant hear me, but then I just raise my voice.

... About using mic's when commanding:

I don't use my mic really when comanding because the only ones that hear you are the SL's. I'm very "vocal" when commanding, I usually let my team know where the bulk of the enemy forces are/spawning at, I let em know where we need defense and also I yell at them if they're all sucking/we're loosing =P

I use text because everyone on the team can't miss the bold yellow.

Re: Do you have a microphone?

I use VOIP in pretty much every round I play. It makes the game much more fun for me, and is probably a big part of why I have kept playing it as long as I have.

Yea, that drove me nuts when I first started using TS too... We just use it for talking to admins and chatting between rounds though. But I still like to know who's talking so I use TeamSpeakOverlay while playing. It gives me a little display showing what channel I'm in and who is talking.. There's a few other options to show too, like a clock and FPS counter. The recent release is pretty stable, so if you've used it in the past and had troubles, then try this one out.

I do use a mic. But only for teamspeak.

I've never used VOIP, it lags me out real bad for some reason, and I don't want to hear the whiny little kids, OMG i died again. my K/D this round is only 1, that's not very good.

I own and use one, but I never use VOIP, I just use TeamSpeak and talk to people from the tournament I am in.

I always introduce myself when joining a squad, 99% I don't get a response. It's like some people have turned VOIP off, bastards.

A lot of people use Teamspeak or Ventrilo because the amount of people that can use it is barely limited and the voice quality is likely to be better.

I can see the VOIP lag issue, although I have never experienced it. However, the other reasonis just silly. Im a tough SQL so I kick out everyone I dont like, or who is wrecking the team. If a 11 year old starts yapping ****, so that the squad gets distracted, hes out, with an apology of course.

I use mic every time I have a squad that does. Mics really make this game great.
