Atrifacts after 1.3

Just playing BF2 after a while away from it. In the meantime I've upgraded the PC to A8N32 SLI, Leadtek 7900 GTX, Opteron 170, 2 GB Corsair DDR400.

I've started to get really nasty artifacts in the game and I know this can be caused by overheating but the system is running well within the normal range.

I would have suspected overheating myself, but it is entirely random when it appears. Sometimes its right after I start playing, other times after an hour or so. Occassionaly I get artifacts and then it clears away again.

If anyone has experienced anything similar to what I have posted in the image attached, what was the cause?

You say its a new vid card, did you update the drivers?

its looking like drivers, possibly compatibility problems with system parts but I doubt it.

wat version drivers u using? As my card artifact with the 9x.xx drivers. But its fine with he 84.25

Could be your new 7900..theres a lot of peeps getting artifacts with em.

Google '7900 gt artifacts'

I think gtx cards are suffering too.

Alot of the 7900 are having issues. If it's artfiacting you need to replace it.

OK, thanks for the feedback, did some reading on the net and it appears factory overclocked cards are having some issues with artifacts.

I've now gone and underclocked the card back to the stock values for 7900 GTX and it works fine, no artifacts.

Emails away to Leadtek to see what is being done about this issue with cards.
