We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
It's the Cobra's collision box - I've sent countless TV missiles through its fuselage with no effect whatsoever, other than me cussing. Frustrating, but old news.
Meh, AT rockets aren't too bad about going straight through stuff anymore. You just have to watch out for the rocket-going-through-the-jeep-speeding-right-at-you bug which has been around since day 1.
The link was broken for me (page could not be found), but I'll take your word for it.
Non-regged hits are nothing new. Every game will occasionally have a non-regged it.
That wasn't necessary was it? BF2 has more than occassional "Non-regged" hits, it happens ALOT. Why do you allways defend the game, and EA/Dice? Why do you allways say it's your computer, or the server you play on, but NEVER do you agree/admit that the game was, and still is unfinished. You must work for them or something.........Nice Video by the way, I feel for the Thread starter.

Yep. This is almost normal, but I also get a lot of rockets going right through jeeps in the distance. I don't see them go through tanks that much, but it happens. They certainly go though people.
The kicker is that by firing a rocket you have pretty much signed your death sentence, I often die before my rocket reaches the target, especially if the target is an APC or the target has many friends around. The turret traverse is so fast on an APC that it takes them a fraction of a second to scan an arc, locate a missile trail and their splash damage takes me out easily even if I have retreated behind a wall. I have often died with a missile flying directly at my target and not gotten a hit. I am left wondering if my missile disappeared upon my death. That's not right.
This happened to me tonight: I'm on Wake, on the carrier. Here comes a transport chopper. I wait for the lock tone, then fire all 8 missiles, one each second. No flares, or chaffs, or anything, the chopper's pilot is just a newbie, learning to fly. The game is not even started, not enough people.
Every missile is going for the chopper, then some deflect off it's skin. The chopper is still flying, before going into the water because the pilot doesn't know what to do. At most 2 of them hit, as there is some smoke coming out.
Same thing against a J10: 6 missiles fired from another plane, 1 hit and, if very lucky, another one.
Except that against other planes, every missile hits (of course, if locked on).
It's like there is some kind of ricochet that happens at certain angles, which is more apparent on J10 and transport choppers. Instead of exploding, missiles just bounce off their skin.
This is Battlefield, embrace it or leave it forever.
Hmm very intresting.. you had me at first too.. :p
BUT afte rwatching it over and over.. I began to see why.. it appears to me that the chopper dropped flares when it heard tone.. it was going backwards at the time.. some bullets appear to do damage or pass but the missles fired heads straght for the rear flare he dropped.. then the user turns the camera as the chopper continues to move backwards and you see the smoke from the missles going through the mesh of the chopper, not the missle.. show me the actual missle going through then I will believe it..
Here is why...
NET CODE. Its very important that everyone be on a level playing field when dealing with netcode.. the playing field being appropriate ping and network settings. Ive seen it many mnay times being a dev for an earlier popular mod.. netcode will screw with just about anything and also induce tons of lagg.
Here is the scenario.. player one has DSL.. his upload is about 128K as his download varies around 512K to 1M < very unlikely with most dsl.. admit it people.. he also has his net settings in game set to LAN.
The other player has Cable and his upload is perhaps for sakes of argument say 512K and his download is 5M and his net settings in game are set to modem.
With the amount of packets each are sending the server and receiving.. not to mention speed of thier modems and network cards.. and also thier MTU settings of those cards.. the packets will sometimes drop.. yes gone.. but some error correction will be made.
On the game side.. player one shoots at player two and says OMGzors that missles went right through it.. meanwhile here I am sitting at my pc as the person standin on deck with Cable that I pay an extra monthly amount for Extreme and upload is aprox 2 to 3 M and download is at highest 16M, what I see is the missle completely miss and the missle heads straight for the flare as it should..
This is just all speculation on my part .. but at least its an educated speculation and not just a rant to help spread newb disease such as.. OMG he pwned u.. that suxors ea should pay.. they should fix it..
Yes I agree in some form of honesty.. Netcode can be tweaked.. and only to a degree.. beyond that its all from the server to your box and whats inside gentlemen. oh and ladies too

I sympathize with you because I deal with this on a daily basis. Actually, several of the following occur:
1- TV shoots a dud,
2- TV shoots but goes in an uncontrollable rotation into the ground,
3- TV doesn't register the hit,
4- TV doesn't reload,
5- TV shoots but instead of having a "missile cam", it stays in the original box.
I like to play a game when I'm alone in a helo. It's called "how many bugs can I get in 5 minutes?"

So true!! :|:
Calm down, the core game is MOSTLY very solid.
There's reason to complain, especially as it USED to be more solid before patches introduced much worse non-reg missiles/rockets
We lost that round but who knows what could happen if we push them out of land. Map was Dalian Plant.
GREAT F****ing job EA.
Well it takes at least two AA missles to kill a chopper so he wouldn't have died if that shot hit him anyway. He then would have sat over the carrier and repaired then continued on to rape your team. It's pretty lame to blame a match loss on one shot that wouldn't even have amounted to a kill.
Since the new patch 1.3 ive played AT and 3 times i noticed the rocket go straight through the tank with no hit. I suggest a roll back to patch 1.2. Until they fix the huge F*&K up.
Non-regged hits are nothing new. Every game will occasionally have a non-regged it. It's the nature of the beast. Murphy's law dictates that they will always happen at the worst possible moment.
BTW, I haven't noticed an increase in non-regs since 1.3. I play quite a bit of AT which gives the most noticable non-regs. Doesn't seem worse. That's just my own observations tho. I could just be lucky.
did you ever try to shoot a ****ing heli out the air with missles.
comming striaght and shoot missles and they all freaking bend off the last second.
if I want to them I most shoot them from 5 m close :hmm:
like shooting to trees
freaking annyong glitches
