OK, I don't know why you guys are ignoring this, but the tutorial works...

1. Uninstall BF2 and SF completely!
2. Reinstall BF2, do not run it. Restart PC if it asks you to.
3. Reinstall SF, do not run it.
4. Download v1.3 from here:

http://www.ea.com/official/battlefield/battlefield2/us/editorial.jsp?src=bf2_1_3

DO NOT RISK DOWNLOADING FROM ANYWHERE UNOFFICIAL!

5. Enjoy

Sorry for those of you who know about this, and I understand it's been posted before, but many people are STILL asking. I'm 99% sure this will work for you, as I ahd identical problems, and now both games work flawlessly.

There "seems" to be a way to fix the issue without the feared reinstall...

That is the best bet if you really arent sure.

This does not always correct for the "shader issue". There is a better fix listed to avoid this.

Shader should be packed in a pk3, If it didnt install right then you have to reinstall from what im guessing or i might be thinking of something else.
