Usual Weapon Unlock Advise Plz

Morning everyone,

I will be ranking up to First Seargent very soon (54 more points), and I would like some of the veteran players input on weapon selection. The four weapons I DO NOT yet have are:

• Engineer - Jackhammer, MP-7
• Support - MG36
• Anti-Tank - P-90

Which two would be most worthwhile in getting?

P.S. - On a side note, is Armored Fury comming out today? I saw the graphic come up last night when I loaded up BF2, but I didn't check out the link, and I can't find any info on EA's website this morning.

I would take the MG36 (I use it all the time) and the Jackhammer (useful for busting talentless C4/GL noobs on Karkand, as well as those wielding that horrid DAO). The MP-7 was good until they nerfed it and the P-90 is like a PP-19.

Is the MG36 worth getting if you are already proficient with PKM one-shot burst rape? Is the three-shot burst on the MG36 accurate?

The three-shot is useless really, but the MG's lower recoil means you can have longer bursts of fire, giving you the edge over a PKM...especially since it's ROF is higer too.

MP7 nerfed? Its a really good weapon, they actually improved it a lot by increasing the magazine from 20 to 40, made it a lot more lethal. The P90 is a good alternative to the DAO or the basic weapons as well.

As usual, depends on the class you play the most.

Personally, looking at what you have, I'd remark:

1. engy - good unlocks, but most engy playing is done in armor/vehicles.
2. support - i love the mg36, but the pkm is very nice as well - and you have it.
3. at - dao12 is pwnage, but the p90 is pretty damn good up close as well, and gives you something with some range to it.

I'd go with the P90, as AT ends up being a nessesary class from time to time.

I didn't need the bigger clip size. I could snipe with that thing before; the lower accuracy ruined that. The P90 is an alternative, yes, but why have an alternative when you could have an improvement?

I think your right about the P90, as AT is necessary at least once if not even more every map it seems.

I really want to get the MG36 as I like the entire G36 line, and it would be fun to have a new machine gun to play with, but I find myself spawning as Engineer to try and cut off advancing armor with mines somewhat often too. However, as an Engineer, I feel pretty much their only use on foot is to lay mines. The stock shotgun just plain sucks at more than five feet away. Usually I'll lay my mines down and go prone right next to them, hoping to dear God that any approaching infantry is extremely overweight and will step on my mine. So I guess my Engy question is, is the Jackhammer decent at mid-range too, or only short?

Sorry to break it to you, but the Jackhammer isn't very powerful, the only advantage over the DAO-12 is that there are more pellets in the shell. It fires in full-auto and holds 7 shells. The USMC shotgun is FAR more powerful, and I think better range-wise.

The P90 has more range than a DAO and fires faster than the other AT weapons, therefore it can be seen as an improvement over both. I would still rather the AT class had a basic rifle, like the M16/AK101/AK47, but that aint gonna happen.

I'd still prefer to be in a squad and let my squad mates take out some guy in the distance with their rifles rather than waste ammo (and time) with a P90, and use my DAO to rip closer targets apart before they can kill anyone, but that's just me. It depends on your playing style.

Go for the P90. On the city maps I regularily pull 50+ point rounds with it.

Especially now that EA fixed the firing sound for it in 1.3 I can actually stand to use it now.

Yeah man, its only sound, but the P90 actually sounds ANGRY now.

man the MP-7 in real life is really inaccurate they didnt nerf it they made it more realistic, that is a sh**ty gun IRL other than that its ROF is REALLY fast
but so is the P-90 and the p90 has more accuracy and a larger clip making the p90 better overall but if ur an engy a mp7 is real good compared to the damn shotguns :hmm:
