How do you disable the EA "Challenge Everything" crap at startup?

I had to reinstall and now I get the "EA challenge everything" thing at startup. I used to have it turned off but that was 10 months ago when I first installed and I have long since forgotten how I did it and with the new install it's back so help me get rid of it please. I can't seem to find out how to disable it. Thanks.

delete these movies C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Movies

Add '+restart 1' without quotes to your shortcut(s).

don't delete the movies folder just rename the files in the folder like startup movie or sumthing

i dont delete the folder itself, just the movies inside. I used to make copies first but realized i didnt need to do that so i just delete them.

U may want to keep the background movie, or your game interface will be grey and dull.

If you have low memory I wouldn't recommend it. It seems to take up a nice chunk of my ram when I have it enabled and not only that I only ever look at it when I start up BF2. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought of all those logos as crap :). I Wonder how long it will be until we're forced to look at them again via a new patch?

i keep the "welcome to duty bit" and the menu background - still keeps the menu lively

There is no goddamn need to delete those movie files nor use a program to modify them. Just rename those. For example I have just added letter A infront of the names of those movie files. And when you want them to work again just delete the letter which u added.

Like Spuddy stated, just add "+restart 1" to your shortcut. That's all. No need for external programs, no need to delete files, no need to rename files, etc., etc. Why make things so hard?

And if you want, you can make a shortcut for each profile you use and automatically log on using the "+username" and "+playerPassword" parameters as well.

I didn't know you could do it with +restart 1. Neat trick although I already have my files renamed :). About the username and password, I wouldn't be so foolish as to put my login info in plaintext like that for all to see. Maybe if no one else uses your computer it's ok, but then again, I still wouldn't do it.

Well, yeah, I suppose, but there's no need to be that paranoid about it.

Now, I'm a bachelor who lives alone in his own house, so the security risk is minimal. If my girlfriend launched up a game of BF2 when she came over, I think I would notice.

If you are some kid who has pesky brothers or sisters, or some guy with nosy roommates, then sure, don't do it. But still, we are just talking about a game here. What do you think they'll do? Swipe all the money out of your bank account or something with your BF2 password? :laugh:
