Air Drop Vehicles

To anyone with sucess on patch 1.3 (http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75868) I have a quick question. Can a commander only drop light jeeps or other vehicles. I hear people say of how they dropped Vodniks and have seen pics of tanks with parachutes (previous POTD) if anyone could clarifly that would be great

I have dropped Humvees, Vodniks and Buggies. You cannot drop armor. I suspect the POTD was reflecting a mod or something.

there is a way to change the map config so you can even drop planes. imagine dropping a chopper or jet on karkand...

Go ahead and grab a screencap of that for me ok? I would love to see a plane dropped on a map that has no planes on a ranked or unranked server. Good try bub, but I don't think so.

With Vanilla BF2, you cannot drop armor or planes ANYWHERE on ANY map. I would imagine that any such drops are indictive of a mod and not happening on ranked boxes as I stated in reply #3.

Dropping planes would make no sense whatsoever.

The screencap of a tank dropping is a MOD not regular BF2.

The only things that can be dropped are DPVs and Light APCs (Hummvee, Vodinik, etc). No armor, no planes, no copters. Im sure there are mini mods that let players drop tanks and such, but for regular, un-modded BF2, only the afrorementioned vehicles.

Being able to frop a heli on a level with no AA or guided missles would simply be chaos. In other words: good if you have it... bad if you dont!

Why would you want to drop a plane somewhere? (except for stunt movie purposes)
There are no planes at karkand for a reason.
