Unmodified Content Error

I am still getting the message: This server only allows players with Unmodified content to Join. Revert your version of Battlefield 2 to the current official version to join.
OK, I researched the threads and found one with this problem and went to the recommeded EA Web site and studied the fixes. I uninstalled Battlefield 2, SF and Euro and reinstalled them with 1.3 patch per the instructions and still get this message. Please forgive the new thread but I must be missing some small detail and perhaps need some new advice. Would you mind explaining to me your particular method of downloading and installing EURO? Maybe it will help me figure out the problem.

I'm in the same boat as you, I can't play EF anymore every server gives me the modified content error message. I know there's a specific order in which you have to install the patches & packs but I can't find it. When 1.3 came out I uninstalled everything, reinstalled BF2, then SF, then tried EF but it told me that I needed to patch to 1.22 so I directly patched to 1.3 then tried EF... it worked, it downloaded & installed EF but I can't play.

If you are receiving this error message it means that there is a corruption in the Battlefield 2 files, or you have an incorrect installation order.

If you have only the Battlefield 2 base game, click here.

If you have the Battlefield 2 base game and the Battlefield 2: Special Forces expansion pack, click here.
*
If you have the Battlefield 2 base game and Battlefield 2: Euro Forces Booster Pack, click here.
*
If you have the Battlefield 2 base game, Special Forces and Euro Force, click here.

If have the base Battlefield 2 game and no expansion packs or booster packs please do the following:

1.
Uninstall Battlefield 2 using the uninstall program, Add/Remove Programs, or the manual uninstall steps found here.
2.
Install Battlefield 2
3.
Download the latest full patch from the Battlefield 2 downloads section found here.

Once you have completed installation please try the game again.

1.
Uninstall Battlefield 2: Special Forces, and the Battlefield 2 base game using the uninstall program, Add/Remove Programs, or manual uninstall for Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2 Special Forces .
2.
Install the Battlefield 2 base game.
3.
Install Battlefield 2: Special Forces.
4.
Install the full patch found here .

Once you have completed installation please try the game again.

If you have the Euro Forces Booster Pack the 1.3 patch must be installed after you install Euro Forces, otherwise content errors will arise. If you have installed the 1.3 patch before you have installed Euro Force, please re-install the 1.3 patch and try the game again.

If you still receive an unmodified content error there will be a corruption in one of the data files. Please follow the steps below:

1. Uninstall Battlefield 2: Special Forces (if applicable), and the Battlefield 2 base game using the uninstall program, Add/Remove Programs, or manual uninstall for Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2 Special Forces (if applicable).
2.
Install Battlefield 2.
3.
Install Battlefield 2: Special Forces (if applicable).
4.
Install the latest patch.
5.
Install Battlefield 2: Euro Forces

Once you have completed installation please try the game again. If you still have an issue please Install the latest patch once again.

I had this same problem last night. All you gotta do is:

1. Install BF2
2. Install patch 1.3 full
3. Install Euroforce booster
4. Install patch 1.3 full again

That worked for me. For some reason you have to reapply the patch to EF.

Thanks colony, I tried to do the patch Install BF2 then Patch 1.3 full and then Euroforce booster then Patch 1.3 full but afterwards none of the Euro maps would come up. Did the maps come up for you in your browser?

You were right about that 1.13- Full Patch. Went back and looked at my temp folder where I keep my files and low and behold, I was trying to patch with the 1.13 - incremental. Took care of the problem right away. Now I am enjoying the game. Thanks.

strange..... i had the same problem and i was getting pretty choked about it.... i tried the recommended procedure as stated by EA, but it was still not working..... all i did was to remove BF2 from the HD, re-install BF2, and then DL patch 1.3 full... i didn't even have to re-install euroforce, or anything, it just worked.... anyway, good luck and maybe this will help....

Okay, I'm done with my hissy-fit. Everything appears to be fine now. I don't know what the other snags were about, but they have gone away.

Just played Great Wall and Smoke Screen. I love them!! :)

I just did the following:

1. Uninstall Battlefield 2: Special Forces (if applicable), and the Battlefield 2 base game using the uninstall program, Add/Remove Programs, or manual uninstall for Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2 Special Forces (if applicable).
2. Install Battlefield 2.
3. Install Battlefield 2: Special Forces (if applicable).
4. Install the latest patch.
5. Install Battlefield 2: Euro Forces
6. Install the latest patch again.

Okay, I did this, and was able to get into The Great Wall, but now Special Forces won't load. I'm really ****ed and am going to ask for my money back. What a HUGE mistake.

BTW, I used that (stupid) "EA Loader" program to install the Euro Forces originally, and after uninstalling everything and reinstalling, the EA Loader thought I still had Euro Forces installed. Somethings not right. 2 hours of fun time down the drain.

EA is horrible. I really do not want to go thru reinstalling everything to get my spec forces working...... I just had to install and and uninstall klike 8 times of trial and error to get base bf2 working again with armored fury. and my euroforce of course has the above problem too. 100% horrible EA, why don't you get some people who can program worth a bat's butt. unacceptable....
