[Big-Ranger]

It seems I am not - by a long chalk - the only person who thinks a heavy lift troop transport option is a good idea...

Aside from my C130 idea (for paratroopers) I mentioned that something like a Sea Kinght (naval Chinook) would be another good option for air assaults from the Essex...

Well, I completely forgot that the US Marines have been working on an up-to-date replacement for the Sea Knight helicopter for some time - the V-22 Osprey.

The chief advantages of the Osprey over traditional helicopters is the speed and manouverability of the aircraft - something like this would make getting ashore in BF2 a little less hazzardous!

Er - PS - obviously these guys thought of this BEFORE I started ranting on about heavy lift options...But I still like to think of it as MY obsession!

It's a great idea, but certainly not in this game. Just one more thing that will become a one person taxis.

Thats all you would see, huge aircraft with one guy jumping out when he hits land.....not a good idea.

I remember that loud assed sound of the US transport helo in DC, I'd be hiding on that Oilrig map somewhere, waiting to put a stinger into that beast.

Would be cool to see a heavy transport option - and preferrably one that could double as a spawn point. With squad hoping gone, dying as a SL stinks, and this would give you another choice.....

Try the HALO in Novalogic's Joint Operations.

I lifted 60+ people into battle with it a few times. Believe me I have almost total recall of those combat lifts thinking how it will look if a grinning AT-4 rocket man was to get 60+ plus kills because I flew it wrong or made a mistake.

I never had that happen because I would land it outside of the defender's effective range and make the troops walk in.
