Forcing Resolutions

I know where I need to do this but I forgot the command that I have to add at the end of the Target Line to force a resolution. I'm trying to get 1600x1200@75hz in game. My native resolution is this, also. Can anyone tell me what i need to write??? Thanks in advance!

add the following to your command line:

ok . . . how can i force the refresh rate? Ingame settings of BF2 allows me to play at 1600x1200@60hz. I know its not that big of a deal, but I'd like to put it at 75hz if for anything to have things even with my native resolution.

Edit your video.con file.

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\####\Video.con

VideoSettings.setResolution 1600x1200@75Hz

Edit your video.con file in your [my documents / BF2 / Profiles] folder. Look for the [VideoSettings.setResolution] line. Once you've changed it don't change any video setup ingame as it will overwrite your settings

Thank you for your help. Apparently BF2 doesnt like running at that amout of hz. Everytime I try to log into my account with the changed hz, it ctd's right before it completes login. I tried it at 70 and 65hz and got the same response. I put it back to 60 and it worked fine. Thanks for your help though!

Are you sure your monitor can even HANDLE 1600x1200 @ 75 Hz? I know no monitor I've ever owned could.

Umm yeah, you don't need 75 Hz

Can you set your desktop to 75 Hz at 1600x1200?

And can you see a difference?? If so, then make sure you have the latest drivers for your monitor installed.

But really, 60 Hz is fine.

So, being an LCD, I don't even need 75hz? I don't know too much about these things, but i read that crt monitors cause eye strain at lower hz and lcd's dont. Does being at a higher hz help you see things 'faster' in game?

Not with LCDs, they work COMPLETELY differently.

With CRTs, yes, you want the refresh rate as high as possible.
