Natural Progression - What comes next?

So, with the forthcoming release of BF2142, and many disgruntled BF players, the question must be asked.

What would YOU like to see done after BF2142?

The series has followed a trend of progression, starting with Lee Enfield's and primitive Tanks in BF1942, to Plasma Rifles and Mechs in BF2142. After BF2142, what comes next? I find it hard to swallow that DiCE and EA will drop the series, as it has been both a monumental success, and money maker for them.

So, I will propose a question, where would you like to see the series go after BF2142?

We will probably see a direct sequel to either 2142 or one of the prior BF games, most likely BF1942 remade on the new engine.

BF1942 with uber graphics and more stuff to toy with, but for god sake, keep the same gameplay and balance!

EA are blind to the fact that Battlefield should stay Modern because if they go all futuristic it will lose all its meaning because nobody knows what its going to be like do they in the future and in modern day we know quite a bit about our battle machines. So i know ill buy 2142 i might not play it much

Hard to say...regardless of what they do, there will be instant posts about "I'm not buying that crap!" "What??? They are making a BF game about that?!"

i thnk that will be the end. perhaps a remake as someone said on 1942 with new engines etc

Yea that'll be awesome and I wouldnt mind seeing a remake of BF Vietnam as well

EA is never gonna stop making new versions of BF2. The battlefield family of games is a goldmine to both EA and DICE.
