Joining and making squads since 1.3?

Sine the new patch I can't seem to join or make squads?

I click on the join squad, make squad icons and nothing happens.......

Anyone had this or can give me some help?

You can only do it when u are alive i think???

Do you mean you can't do it before the game starts?

I pretty sure I tried it while alive. I will go and check now.
