what's happening?

so i just set up my new rig, installed a fresh windows and everything. however, when i start up BF2 and it looks like this (click on the link)

it takes so long just lagging there, after around 3-5 mins, it loaded right into the game no problem. but fps dropped about 20 average during game play.

i tried reinstall the game, didn't work
i tried different video card driver, didn't work
i tried upgrading monitor driver, didn't work
i even tried to reinstall the windows, didn't work

so what else i can still try to do to solve the problem?

Opteron 165
DFI UT NF4 Ultra-D
OCZ EL Platinum 2GB 2X1GB
eVGA 7900 GTX driver: 84.66
Maxtor SATA 200G
OCZ PowerStream 520W

do you have a different video card you could try? It looks like part of the image isn't getting processed from the GPU. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the video card, to see if maybe it just isn't seate all the way in. If that doesn't fix it, try and get a different video card to put in, and see if it still does it.
