    1.3 Memory Leak?

I have not been able to play BF2 since the 1.3 patch was released. Every time i load a map on any server, it drops me to my desktop. I have tried reinstalling the game and the patch and it has not changed anything. Is anyone else having this problem, and if so, is there a way to fix it?

Have you got any alternative ranking system redirects in your host file?.........if so it needs to be removed.

i am no expert it was a reason i read on the official BF2 website community news. If you use an alternative ranking system such as ABR then this causes probs...as u dont even know, im guessing you dont. So this isnt helping sorry

Its 1.3 in general mate. All the coding is screwed up. Client and server side. Basically the games equivalent to 70% complete. EA/DICE obviously dont care, so i say find a new game :)

          QW is out soon

I'm getting the crash to desktop too, it used to run beautiful till I installed 1.3 inc. patch. This patch stinks ! I only get the crash to desktop trying to connect to a server, I also now see the terrain in blocks while in an aircraft.
The worst part of this patch has to be the vehicle drop. As if it's not hard enough dodging Arty, now I've got some commander dropping Humvees on my head, and if he missess, the Humvees turn into time bombs and explode after a set amount of time taking out anyone standing close to it.

Man, will people bother to read threads posted already, CLIENT & SERVER CODE IS SCREWED, EA/DICE WONT ROLL BACK AND NO WORD OF A HOTFIX!!!

Servers arer crashing 10+ times aday, and so are client software on peoples computer. EA/DICE have released a unfinished, untested patch for whatever reason the only they know. Server companys are thinking of dropping BF2 cause of this and the lack of support from EA/DICE, so soon you may find it hard find a server at all. And when you do, dont expect play on it for to long before it, or your game crashes!!!!

im sure they skim through it but they are under the impression that we are a small percentage of the community and what we say doesnt matter.

                    Re: 1.3 Memory Leak?

Well its because they moved the people who made BF2 to bf2142 and left a skeleton crew who didnt auther the coding. Hense they dont fully understand it. YOu cant blame dice as they have to do what there told, and even EA to an extent as to please share holders. But this is just plain unacceptable

Well they have nerfed the 203/GP30/GP25 tube. Bigger splashdamage.
I experience more of these white clouds when you shoot at someone. (Half a clip into a person and they don't die (yes call me a whiner, just stating facts here)).

And I am hoping for a hotfix. They have to fix the bugs that came with 1.30. And only once or twice have I experienced CTD. (Installed the full patch).

Does not sound like a memory leak, checked my memory commit charge and just same as in last patch.

BF2142 is being handled by the same bunch who gave us BFV; Dice/Canada

OH NOES! :| BF2142 by the same team as BF:V..

Well BF2142 seems cool but as it runs on the same engine.. It of course also will have 24087 Patches before the f'n game runs well..

                              Moved to Support.

So, make sure you have NOT edited your HOSTS file (you can open it with notepad and see). Located here:
                              C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

                              Try deleting your cache:
                              c:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache
